TV Shows Reviews

One of the most amusing moments in the seventh episode of Fallout Season 2 involves Lucy and Hank sharing a brief father-daughter scene. It's a small moment, set on a golf cart, where Hank—gentle, encouraging, unmistakably dad-like—reassures a fumbling Lucy that she's doing a good job. "You're doing great," he keeps repeating, like a father teaching his kid how to ride a bike. These two characters have opposing goals and conflicting beliefs, but for a moment, those tensions coexist with what appears to be a genuine family-bonding scene, lending it a quietly comic charge.

Nothing else in the episode carries the same eccentric charm. The Handoff, alas, is ultimately just another unremarkable step toward the season's conclusion. All the elements that have made Season 2 feel so dull resurface once again. Watching the episode feels like flipping through a manual crammed with plot instructions. Vault 33 is experiencing a water crisis; Barb must hand Hank's box over to Overseer Steph to fix it. Lucy initially sides with Hank so she can deceive him later. Chet attends his wedding to Steph to expose her true nature. Maximus, Thaddeus, and the Ghoul reunite so the Ghoul can obtain the relic for use at Lucky 38, where he meets Robert House. Norm, meanwhile, ominously questions why Hank kept his real plans hidden.

Amid all this hopping between plot threads, we are treated to occasional diversions—the Roman-themed episode earlier in the season, the golf-cart interlude here, or Maximus's Western-style confrontation with Deathclaws. Thaddeus's transformation into a ghoul is also taking unexpected turns. Most shows juggle multiple storylines that eventually converge, but the weakest ones constantly remind us that they are feeding us Important Information. The result feels like homework. That's what makes Season 2 so unexciting, so tedious.

The only real surprises are spoiler-adjacent details—such as a control chip mainframe operated by the severed head of a congresswoman. It's a funny idea that barely earns a chuckle because it's presented like another box to be checked, something to note for future reference rather than enjoy in the moment. Still, none of this is likely to matter to studios or creators. According to reports, the series is pulling in strong numbers. "Never underestimate the value of brand recognition," a character says. He's right—just look at the success of this bland second season.

Final Score- [4/10]
