TV Shows Reviews

The third season premiere doesn't miss a second and begins exactly where it ended in the second season. It picks up with Tabitha in St. Antony's Hospital realizing that she is finally out of the nightmarish town. There is a sigh of relief, but she is still worried about her family and her identity.

The one thing I liked the most about this show is that it doesn't waste time with boring stuff and straightway captures our attention by making us feel tense about the characters. While Tabitha is finally out, the rest of her family and the towners are now in way more trouble than we saw them the last time. The towners might have felt relief after surviving a possible end of the event in the second season's finale, but its impact may actually bring the end soon as Donna makes a shocking discovery. All their food stock is somehow rotten now. Donna informs that the soil has become poisonous and they may not be able to produce any vegetables or grain ever.

At the beginning of the episode, Boyd is injured, but he quickly patches himself up and is geared up to be the sheriff the town needs. He meets Donna to find out about the rotten food. The towners are already panicking and have looted the food stock in the Diner. Boyd is trying to control the situation but has no idea how to overcome this. Boyd, Donna, and Ms. Liu plan to use all their farm animals as a meat source until a new crop is ready, but they have no idea where to plant it.

However, nothing in this town goes according to the plan. The monsters somehow sniff this plan and attack the barns and fields where the animals are kept. They free the animals to lure the towners into the open. Boyd, Kenny's mother, Jade, Ethan, Julie, all took the bait. However, nobody is killed, at least not yet, as the horrifying night is just beginning.

Everything in town is the same as where it was left in the previous season. There are no new additions to the town's population. Monsters are almost the same except for one change revealed at the end of the episode. Boyd and Ms. Liu were surrounded by the monsters inside the barn, in the ideal scenario, the monsters would have begun to tear them apart, but things were unusual this time. The monsters began torturing Ms. Liu while making Boyd watch her. They clearly tell Boyd, they are not going to kill him as it would be no fun, they are going to break him.

Meanwhile, in the real world, Tabitha escapes the hospital she was brought to and manages to inform her mother that she is alive but can't come back now. I was beginning to wonder what her plan was as she was still seeing the boy who threw her from the lighthouse. Somehow, Tabitha discovers that Victor's real-life address was written inside his box at the bottom, and it was the same town in Maine she was already in. Meanwhile, Jim and Kenny begin their journey to find Tabitha, which is the exact opposite of what Tabitha asked Jim for. However, they soon realize that it might not be in their and their family's best interest to get lost or die in the woods.

The premiere episode of the FROM Season 3 left us on a cliffhanger with the fate of Kenny's mother and Boyd in the hands of the monsters. On the other hand, Tabitha found someone who may play a key role in getting her back to the town and hopefully getting everyone out.

Final Score - [8/10]
