MGM+ ‘FROM’ Season 3 Episode 9 Review - Miracle Baby Incoming

Tensions are at an all-time high as town residents discover that one of their own has gone missing.

TV Shows Reviews

As expected the ninth episode begins with Boyd and Ellis looking for Fatima in the woods, but they have no clue where she is gone. Since the night was about to fall, Boyd who was having some physical issues of his own decided it would be best to come back tomorrow and continue the search. Boyd assures Ellis that Fatima took the talisman, so she is safe wherever she is.

However, the next day doesn't begin as they expected when Sara pays them a visit. To their surprise, she knows Fatima is missing. Boyd and Ellis look surprised, while Ellis also gets angry. Sara explains that the old voices came back and laughed about Fatima's missing while also claiming that Fatima won't be able to survive. Those voices seem to mock everyone and claim that Fatima is nearby, but they won't be able to find her in time.

The penultimate episode or the first part of the third season's finale is all about finding Fatima safe and sound. Nobody in the town has any idea about Elgin being involved in this. Almost every single resident is part of the search party including Elgin. The episode leaves viewers spinning in circles, enveloped in a haze of confusion. Just when it seems like we’re on the brink of uncovering some answers or solving an intriguing mystery, the narrative complicates matters further by introducing yet another layer of enigma, adding to the multitude of unresolved questions that linger in the air.

As we saw in the last episode, Elgin is keeping Fatima in the root cellar and he is completely convinced that it's for Fatima's own good. However, Fatima is not comfortable as within hours of being in that place, her belly has grown up and she does look pregnant now. Elgin explains that the miracle baby will be special and he is going to help everyone. Elgin is so convinced that he joins the search party with Ellis, telling him that Fatima might be in a safe place and that everything should be okay. Although Ellis who probably appears to be the most clueless and useless character in the show doesn't catch any sign Elgin mistakenly gives about knowing Fatima's whereabouts.

Revelations: Chapter One is the first part of the finale, so it doesn't end with any proper conclusion. Tabitha and Julie are able to find the underground root cellar with the help of one of the dead children, but before they reach Fatima, they meet Victor who tells them that this is the place where his mother left him with her sister and died. Somehow, Tabitha is now able to see the whole backstory in a flashback after touching him. This is another addition to the list of mysteries that remain unsolved. But with this newfound ability of harnessing memory with a touch, will Tabitha be of some help in finding Fatima or is it another ability that doesn't add anything?

At the end of the episode, Tabitha is in shock, her screams echoing through the dimly lit corridors, a raw mix of terror and confusion gripping her. Meanwhile, in a nearby room shrouded in shadows, the ghost lady looms ominously over Fatima, her pale, translucent fingers pressed firmly against the girl’s mouth, silencing her cries. The eerie scene is charged with an unsettling tension, as the chilling presence of the ghost lady holds Fatima captive on the bed, leaving an oppressive silence in the air that amplifies Tabitha's panic. I will only be able to accurately judge this episode after watching the final one. However, as a single episode, it hardly does anything to move the story forward and make me excited about the finale.

Final Score - [7/10]
