Netflix has revealed the first trailer (watch above) for the British spy-thriller movie, ‘Munich - The Edge of War.’ Starring Jeremy Irons, George MacKay, and Jannis Niewöhner in the leading role, the film will release on January 21, 2022, on Netflix, worldwide.
Munich tells the story of the grave emergency meeting which should have prevented the Second World War. It was earlier scheduled to release this year, but due to COVID delaying the production the film was postponed to 2022.
Munich - The Edge of War portrays Europe's seemingly inevitable developments through the perspective of two young, idealistic diplomats frantically attempting to reverse the course of history.
Based on Robert Harris' international best-seller Munich, the film is set in Fall 1938, as Europe is on the verge of war. Adolf Hitler is preparing to attack Czechoslovakia, and the government of Neville Chamberlain is urgently seeking a diplomatic settlement. Hugh Legat, a British government servant, and Paul von Hartmann, a German diplomat, fly to Munich for the emergency Conference as the pressure mounts. As the discussions begin, the two old friends find themselves at the center of a labyrinth of political deception and imminent danger. Can conflict be avoided with the entire world watching, and if so, at what cost?

Christian Schwochow has directed the film from a screenplay written by Ben Power. Andrew Eaton has produced through his production Turbine Studios. ‘Munich - The Edge of War’ will also get a limited theatrical release.
