Jeremy Davis and Seth Stewart continue to navigate their lives post-experiencing a big success. How will they make a comeback in their career?

TV Shows Reviews

Back again with season 2, Everyone is Doing Great picks up from where it left off. It has now been five years since their hit vampire series came to an end, and former co-stars Jeremy Davis and Seth Stewart now try to navigate life without the stardom of the show. This hasn’t been easy on either of them, and hence they rely on each other as much as they can for support, as and when life continues to happen to them. For them, finding a purpose in life has become a bit difficult after they experienced big early success. In season 2, we see a big change in their personalities. For example, Seth is looking forward to a new relationship. In contrast, Jeremy isn’t as hopeful as he thought due to his mounting legal troubles. Meanwhile, Seth also wishes to return to his career, which is becoming increasingly difficult. The relationship between Andrea and Izzy also adds emotional tension to the whole plot of Seth and Jeremy.

The question now is, will they ever realize that their lives have indeed changed and that they need to adjust to the same? Compared to the first season, Season 2 has more depth in what they wished to show. For example, a big shift has come to the bond between the former co-stars. While there has been some acceptance of their fate by themselves, there is still a lot of growing up left to do, which we have yet to see. There are awkward moments, some failed attempts at making a comeback, and whatnot.

However, even with all this, there are some issues with the plot that need to be addressed. For example, the side characters of Andrea and Izzy feel incomplete. Some of the subplots hardly make any sense, which is another reason why Everyone is doing great season 2 fails to leave a mark even after the credits start to roll. Also, the entire plot merges between the two central characters, which somehow makes the storyline overlap. That can create confusion in the minds of the people who have been watching the show.

The pacing is another issue. The plot moves at such a slow speed that at one point, you will get bored with what you are watching. Again, that is something which is non-negotiable because why would anyone want to watch a story that is moving at a snail's pace?

The humor is fine. Nothing path-breaking that will make you roll out of laughter. The entire season was supposed to be on humor, yet that is lacking. While much of it is character-driven, which is fine, that doesn’t create the excitement one will have when it comes to watching Everyone is doing great season 2.

Overall, if you want to watch it because you are curious to know the plot development or because you are a big fan of the show, then only watch it. Otherwise, you can choose to watch something else that doesn’t waste your time.
