When you have so many talented and well-known actresses on one stage, there comes a point where it becomes difficult to manage them. The sole reason behind major conflicts is the ego clashes and bitching going on behind each other’s backs. This season, it is Lucia vs everyone, and if you’re in for the ride, you may as well as buckle up.
With women you never know whether they are good friends or enemies hence, the foremost rule the audience needs to understand is that in Forever Queens, everyone is there for themselves and they don’t give a damn about the other person. Take for example how Lucia keeps the good lighting for herself and always wants to be in the center of everything.
Lucia Mendez might be an accomplished actress, however, when you see her in this show, she was the one creating all the troubles. The tour and the song were a group effort even though she demanded all the focus on herself. At the age of 69 years, she does silly things like cutting people while the camera is still rolling. To me, it feels like the little girl inside of her is very ambitious and hence tries to overshadow everyone else.
Other actresses are also no saints, but she is the one who is so self-engrossed and keeps calling herself “Mexico’s Diva” again and again. Although what happened between her and Laura after the end of the first season was pathetic it still doesn’t justify the fight Lucia picked up with Lorenzo in the first episode of this season.
There comes a point where you are tired of seeing these women fighting over trivial things and just want to skip the show (which comes multiple times). A lot of drama has been included and one can’t listen to this much of it. They might be successful actresses, but the audience will hardly find it relatable.
The cast of Forever Queens and the fact that it hasn’t been dubbed will hinder the amount of audience interaction with the reality series. The women are mostly famous in Mexico, so people living in other parts like India will hardly like it. Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives is much more relatable and entertaining for us.
The second season of the show is about Lucia and Lorena searching for more queens and making a song. They approach Olivia, Dulce, and Rosa and make a song. Save yourself the trouble and watch something else if you’ve come to watch the series just for hilarious one-liners as I couldn’t find one.
Final Score – [4/10]
