Time is the kind of show that has unrealized potential. The plot follows Melanie, a wealthy heiress whose life appears to be perfectly planned, but only on the surface. With her wedding approaching, she firmly believes that her future is finally falling into place. However, everything changes when she drives through a strange tunnel containing a mysterious Time Distortion. In the blink of an eye, an entire year vanishes from her life. He soon realizes that her personal life clock has skipped forward, which leaves her waking up to a future that she has no idea about. Her friends are behaving differently, and the whole dynamics of relationships have changed. She has no idea why things have changed. Now, she must look for answers and also uncover what exactly happened during the missing year. But every problem has a solution, and so does Melanie’s. She finds out that a necklace can actually get back to the present. However, she must understand that it carries a deadly cost.
There are many good things about the time we start. For example, the plot has a good amount of twists, which makes it intriguing to watch. The first episode manages to set the tone overall for us. It is from here that we see how her life is beginning to change. Some dynamics shift about which she has zero idea. However, having said all of this, the plot has its own set of drawbacks. At one point in the watch experience, the twists and turns are so many that one doesn’t feel like using the grain to understand why everything is happening. That can cause many viewers to stop watching the show midway.
The pacing is also pretty slow. That again is one of the biggest issues of time. At one point, it indeed gets so frustrating to watch because the show is literally dragging itself through the episodes. While the total number of episodes is less, some scenes are stretched for no reason. Moreover, the entire plot isn’t something path-breaking. At first glance, it looks great, but slowly and steadily, you realize that the show offers nothing new. When it comes to time travel, we have seen many great plots. But sadly, this one fails to raise the bar. Initially, the show starts well. But slowly and steadily you realize that Time doesn’t have the charisma it takes to make the show one that people might remember after the credits start to roll. And it's not like the show didn’t have the potential. It sure did. But that potential isn’t realized much.
The acting is the saving grace. The leads, as well as the supporting cast, manage to save the show well in time. It is because of them that you will feel like watching the show. Their expressions, dialogue delivery, etc., are all worth at least one watch. So, all in all, if you are someone who loves time travel content, this show can be watched, but even then, it can disappoint you.
Final Score - [4/10]
