Dwayne Johnson Welcomes Sarah Shahi to the Cast of DC’s ‘Black Adam’

Dwayne Johnson has welcome the new cast member, Sarah Shahi to the team of the upcoming DC film. Shahi will be joining the cast of Black Adam which stars The Rock in the leading role. She will be playing a university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in Kahndaq.

 

Welcoming Shahi to the cast, Rock said "And so it begins, A pleasure welcoming Sarah Shahi to our BLACK ADAM Universe. Our cast is really coming together in a great way."

 


Earlier, Aldis Hodge joined the cast as Hawkman aka Carter Hall, a member of the Justice Society, with previously announced Noah Centineo, who is playing Atom Smasher.


Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, is helming “Black Adam” off a recent draft by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani.


Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions are producing with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. Johnson, Collet-Serra, Flynn, Garcia, and Garcia recently collaborated on Jungle Cruise, which is opening July 30, 2021. Scott Sheldon from FlynnPictureCo. will serve as an executive producer.

 

Shahi has previously appeared in shows like The Rookie, Reverie, Person of Interest, The L Word, and Fairly Legal. She is currently shooting the Netflix series Sex/Life and received critical acclaim for her performance in the Showtime series City On A Hill.

 

“Black Adam” is cleared to shoot in Georgia next year. The film will arrive in theaters on Dec. 22, 2021.
