The second trailer for Ryan Reynolds’ “Free Guy” is here and 20th Century Studios is sticking with the previously announced release date. Free Guy opens in U.S. theaters on December 11, 2020.

Reynolds stars as Guy, a bank teller and NPC (non-playable character) who discovers he’s living in a video game. In Twentieth-Century Studios’ epic adventure-comedy “Free Guy,” a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.

In the trailer, hostage situations, buildings being blown up, and people shooting guns off in the street is depicted as part of otherwise mundane life for Guy, who lives in Free City. One day, while working at his bank job, robbers rush in and tell everyone to get on the ground.

The studio has also released a poster for the film.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi.

Directed by Shawn Levy from a story by Matt Lieberman and a screenplay by Lieberman and Zak Penn.

Produced by Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy (Stranger Things), Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Adam Kolbrenner with Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, George Dewey, Dan Levine, and Michael Riley McGrath serving as executive producers.
