Leo Howard, who plays Ethan in the Legacies, has been made series regular in the upcoming Season 3 of the fantasy-drama at CW. Ethan is a student at Mystic Falls High School and son of Sheriff Mac (Bianca Kajlich).

Ethan appeared in Episode 6 "That's Nothing I Had to Remember" of season 2 for the last time where he appeared with Hope Mikaelson in Mystic Falls during the Commonwealth Day festival. In total, he appeared in three episodes of Season 2.

Leo Howard's Ethan is likely to appear more as a friend to Hope as it was in the second season. They meet at the Mystic Falls High School for the first time in episode 2 "This Year Will Be Different," when Hope went to the school to get a new start, and she was very surprised to see Alaric Saltzman as principal.

Continuing the tradition of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, Legacies is the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Klaus Mikaelson's daughter, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson; Alaric Saltzman's twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman; and other young adults come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves despite their worst impulses.

Season 3 of Legacies is set to premiere on The CW in January 2021, likely to start on 21st January, 9 PM EST.

"Legacies" is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios in association with My So-Called Company, with executive producers Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries), Brett Matthews (The Vampire Diaries), Leslie Morgenstein (The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars) and Gina Girolamo (The Originals).
