I have no hesitation in accepting that I was wrong about Ellis being clueless, he certainly caught a few hints from Elgin but played dumb in front of him. In the season finale, Ellis reveals his doubts about Elgin to Boyd and Kenny who are quickly convinced that Elgin is likely behind the disappearance of Fatima. Without any further delay, Boyd asks Ellis and Kenny to rush towards the Colony house and keep Elgin there.

Boyd went to fetch Sara who has experience of following the orders of imaginary supernatural beings, and Boyd thought she might help Elgin snap out of it. Boyd and Sara also rush towards the colony house joined by Donna. All five together confront Elgin who quickly admits to kidnapping Fatima but vows to not reveal her location. As tensions rise, Boyd boldly proposes extreme measures in a bid to extract the truth, leaving everyone in the room unsettled by the audacity of his suggestions.

The confrontation is likely the best of Boyd we have seen so far this season. Boyd gathers up a bunch of repairing tools and a hammer from the shed as he asks everyone to remain outside. He tortures Elgin and almost melts his hand, but Elgin doesn't give any clue about Fatima's whereabouts. Meanwhile, out of nowhere, Acosta stormed in and stopped Boyd from going any further.

While in the root cellar, the miracle baby was happening, which turned out not the miracle Elgin expected it to be. Something came out from Fatima, who turned out to be Smiley. I expected something or someone different, but Smiley indeed came as an unpleasant surprise.

The finale did resolve a few mysteries and give answers to a few burning questions. Tabitha didn't get the ability to harness the memory with a touch, but Tabitha was indeed Miranda. The episode doesn't clarify if it's another life or dimension, but it confirms that Tabitha was here before as Miranda and Jade were here as Christopher; that is why they see things others can't. The episode also gives the meaning of the word "Anghkooey" which is "remember." The children were asking Jade and Tabitha to remember who they were. Tabitha firmly remembers that they were the first in town, and she has a baby with Christopher, who has since died or was killed. This came as a surprise to me as Victor only remembers his sister and to my knowledge both the siblings have the same father, Henry. All the further explanations are now left for the fourth season which is due in 2026.

Although Boyd might not be able to crack Elgin, Sara managed to tear him apart and discover Fatima's whereabouts. Boyd along with Kenny and Ellis rushes towards the root cellar and thankfully they find Fatima alive, although the ghost lady has already taken the newborn with her. Boyd cautiously navigated the dimly lit underground tunnel, the damp air heavy with the scent of earth and mystery. As he pressed onward, he stumbled upon a remarkable sight—a newborn creature, its form shimmering with an otherworldly glow. He watched in awe as it gradually transformed into a larger, more defined being, taking on the peculiar yet captivating features of a creature called Smiley, whose grin seemed to stretch wider than its face. The episode offers a glimpse into the backstory of creatures that hunt at night. They used to be humans, but to achieve immortality they sacrificed their children, and in return, they got this life with certain conditions. The next season is likely to explain it further.

The episode ends surprisingly, likely hinting at a time loop and time travel. After finding the truth about Tabitha, Jim was walking out alone in the woods, when he was approached by Julie who was trying to save him. It appears it wasn't her first try. A surprising figure, Man in the Yellow Suit appears and confronts Jim about Tabitha finding out something she shouldn't have and ultimately kills Jim brutally. However, I don't think Jim is dead, but his fate does lie in the hands of Julie.

The finale was entertaining and satisfying, it does resolve some mysteries, but also leaves the viewers with some loose ends. However, in the great scheme of things, the event of the finale doesn't help any of the town's resident reach even an inch closer to their actual home. I hope the upcoming season in 2026 does explain things more quickly than this season. Also, this episode was listed as 73 minutes long, but actually, it's just 59 minutes long including the credits.

Final Score - [9/10]
