For all of you waiting for the release of Furies season 2, the wait is over. Starting off from where it left, we get to witness a lot of power dynamics shift and some weak alliances that prove to be costly in the future. At the center of all this is Lyna. Post the rise of the paramilitary group called Damoclès, the entire balance of power collides. Damoclès forces the once-dominant Furies into submission. However, unlike all of the other, Lyna refuses to accept this. And to do so, she takes the most unusual path; she decides to work as an informant for the police. Now, this is a sharp shift, as doing so means that she is sort of betraying her own family. Amidst the growing threat of Damoclès, Lyna has to navigate her double life if she wishes to attain freedom. On the other hand, Selma’s relationship with Lyna continues to become troublesome as she possesses her own hidden agenda, which is clearly unknown to Lyna. One thing that continues to remain the same is the fight they all want to put against Damoclès. In no means are they ready to surrender and accept Damoclès. Now the question is: will Lyna succeed? Will her truth ever come out? Will the new alliances continue?

Now, this season has its own ups and downs. For example, the hunt for Oz is what makes the episodes full of action, and that sense of hurry and urgency is what keeps us throughout the show. Furies season 2 is not without its action, and the makers give us plenty of it. I must admit, these action sequences are well coordinated and well performed. That makes the entire thing worth a watch if you fall in the category of being action lovers.

When we come to acting, some great performances can be seen throughout the runtime. Lina El Arabi is the showstopper without a doubt. She gives us an amazing Lyna to watch and fangirl over. Other than that, Marina Foïs adds to the overall performance by portraying Selma. The chemistry these two share is amazing.

However, with all the goods come the parts that didn’t leave any impact. Furies 2 feels like any other crime show that we have seen before. It comes across as the typical game of shifting alliances, a traitor, and the constant power shift that takes place every now and then. So what new did we get? Well, sadly, nothing much. I was hoping for a better script this time, but that didn’t come to us.

There are also some places where the scenes move so fast that it becomes impossible to understand what is happening. I wish the makers worked on that aspect too. But if you are a big Furies fan, I am sure these minor things won't be a headache as such. You can easily ignore the similar stuff that you must have seen before. So all in all, while the show isn’t without its flaws and slightly less exciting compared to season 1, it is still worth a watch to see how the plot moves ahead.
