“Ozark” Season 4 has officially wrapped up filming this Friday in Atlanta, Georgia. The fourth season of the crime-drama series, which is also the final season, began production last year in November.
The 14-episode fourth season will premiere in two parts with seven-episode each. The first part is likely to premiere in the first quarter of 2022, reportedly in January 2022. The first episode of Season 4 has been titled “The Beginning of the End.”
Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Charlie Tahan, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Julia Garner, and Lisa Emery are returning for the final season. The cast of the fourth season also includes Ali Stroker, Veronica Falcón, and Bruce Davison.
Netflix revealed the first look clip of “Ozark” Season 4 on Sep. 25 during the TUDUM global fan event. The clip shows Wendy and Marty Byrde, played by Laura Linney and Jason Bateman washing their hands at a bathroom sink. Both have blood and grit on their hands, hair, and upper bodies. They seem to be back in Mexico, working with the drug cartel family that has played an important role in previous seasons of the show. You can watch the clip at the end of this article.
In the Season 3 finale, Maya tells Marty that Trevor handed Helen a copy of Marty's confession to Maya. Wendy, Marty, and Helen are expected by Navarro to attend his son's second baptism in Mexico. Nelson executes Helen upon arrival, and Navarro informs Marty and Wendy that this marks the beginning of increased cooperation between the three of them.
Ozark is a contemporary drama created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams that follows the Byrde family's journey from their regular, suburban Chicago life to their dangerous criminal venture in Ozarks, Missouri. The show examines capitalism, family dynamics, and survival through the viewpoint of those who are not typical Americans.
The series, which comes from MRC Television is executive produced by Bateman, Mark Williams, Patrick Markey, John Shiban, Chris Mundy, and Bill Dubuque. Mundy also returns as showrunner and writer. Linney is also a co-executive producer for Season 4.
Netflix is already looking to expand the series through a spinoff after the final season. Any official confirmation on the possible spinoff is likely to be made after the series finale.
"Ozark" debuted in 2017 and quickly gained popularity among fans and critics, getting 14 Emmy nominations. Jason Bateman received an Emmy for best directing in a drama series, and Jennifer Garner received an Emmy for best-supporting actress in a drama series.
