‘Ragnarok’ Season 3 Gets Trailer and Release Date on Netflix

Magne’s fortitude is about to be put to the greatest test in an epic last fight of gods vs giants, with the boundaries between good and evil blurred.

Netflix has revealed the first trailer for the third and final season of its Norwegian original ‘Ragnarok,’ which will return later this month. ‘Ragnarok’ Season 3 will release on August 24, 2023, on Netflix, worldwide.


The third season will follow Magne as her bravery will be put to the greatest test as the dramatic last battle between gods and giants approaches.


What do you do when you're an 18-year-old high school senior in a small town in Norway and you realize you're the chosen one whose mission it is to stand up to an ancient and immensely strong enemy who has an iron grasp on not just a whole town but an entire country?


In Season 3, Magne, the protagonist, is faced with the challenge of battling an enemy. However, being a teenager in love and now in possession of the world's most powerful weapon, Magne must remain calm and make wise decisions. In addition, he must discover his true identity while managing the relationships he has formed in the small town. Magne must carefully consider each step he takes on his journey from childhood to adulthood. The question remains, who among his acquaintances is a friend, and who is an enemy?


The third season cast includes David Stakston, Jonas Strand Gravli, Theresa Frostad Eggesbø, Henriette Steenstrup, Herman Tømmeraas, Danu Sunth, Synnøve Macody Lund, Ida Nilsen, Odd-Magnus Williamsson, Bjørn Sundqvist, Vebjørn Enger, Billie Barker, Benjamin Helstad, Ruben Rosbach, Jesper Malm, Fridtjov Såheim, Espen Sigurdsen, and others.


The second season concluded with Fjor on the verge of killing Laurits when he declares that he holds the only item capable of killing Magne. Magne appears in front of him and Ran as they are about to leave, assaults them with Mjölnir, but they escape. As the episode comes to a close, Laurits releases Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent, into the water as Ran and Fjor watch by the shore. The third season will wrap up all the loose ends while concluding the story.


Ragnarok is a coming-of-age drama building on and contributing to, a new and surprising angle on Norse mythology. The Norwegian language series is produced by SAM Productions, a Danish screenwriter-based production company. Adam Price and Emilie Lebech Kaae function as creators and writers, the executive producer is Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen, the producer is Stine Meldgaard Madsen, and Director is Mogens Hagedorn.
