‘Fallout’ Season 2 Gets Teaser Trailer, Release Window Confirmed on Prime Video

Amazon has revealed the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the sci-fi series Fallout, which became a global hit on Prime Video last year. The hit video game adaptation is all set to return on Prime Video in December 2025.

During Amazon’s annual upfront presentation this Monday, the streamer also announced that the global hit series has been given an advance and early Season 3 renewal as well. Fallout Season One has had over 100 million views globally, making it one of the service's top three most-watched titles of all time.

At the Prime Video upfronts presentation, actors Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins took the stage at New York's Beacon Theater to announce that Season Two will premiere this December. In this thrilling new season, the story resumes right after the stunning finale of Season One. Viewers will embark on an exhilarating journey through the vast and desolate wasteland of the Mojave, navigating the remnants of a once-thriving landscape. Along the way, they'll encounter the eerie and vibrant city of New Vegas, a post-apocalyptic haven filled with intrigue, danger, and unexpected allies. Prepare for a gripping adventure as secrets unfold and challenges arise in this harsh yet captivating world.

Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout tells the story of the disparity between the haves and the have-nots in a world where little remains to possess. Two hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle inhabitants of luxury fallout shelters are compelled to return to the irradiated wasteland their ancestors abandoned. They are shocked to find an incredibly complex, uniquely bizarre, and highly violent universe awaiting them.

The series stars Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul / Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, Xelia Mendes-Jones as Dane, and Frances Turner as Barb Howard.

Fallout is produced by Kilter Films, with executive producers Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner also serve as executive producers, creators, and showrunners. At the end of the first season, Lucy, driven by determination, skillfully convinces Hank to surrender the critical code that activates her cold fusion reactor to Moldaver. As tensions rise, Maximus manages to rescue Lucy’s father from captivity, but his relief quickly turns to rage when he uncovers Hank's treacherous role in the catastrophic destruction of Shady Sands. Fueled by anger, he confronts Lucy's father, leading to a violent clash.

In the wake of this turmoil, Lucy feels a deep sense of betrayal and disowns Hank for his dishonorable actions, especially after he viciously attacks Maximus. Seeking solace and a sense of purpose, the Ghoul—a figure tormented by the possibility that his long-lost family might still be alive—extends an invitation to Lucy. He proposes a journey alongside Dogmeat and himself to find the elusive leaders of Vault-Tec.

With a heavy heart, Lucy embraces the Ghoul’s offer, brutally killing Rose, an obstacle in her path, to solidify her commitment to the quest. As hope glimmers on the horizon, Moldaver successfully brings the cold fusion reactor to life, illuminating the darkened streets of Los Angeles, but not without paying the ultimate price; she succumbs to her grave injuries shortly afterward.

In a grave misunderstanding, the Brotherhood of Steel mistakenly believes that Maximus played a role in Moldaver’s demise. In their eyes, he emerges as a heroic figure, earning the title of Knight Maximus. Meanwhile, the chaos forces Hank to abandon any semblance of safety, sending him fleeing to the desolate remnants of New Vegas, where uncertainty awaits him.
