Netflix has revealed the first trailer and release date for the German-language movie, Faraway. The rom-com movie, Faraway will release on March 8 on Netflix, worldwide.
Netflix is releasing the film on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2023. The heartwarming RomCom follows Zeynep, a 49-year-old Croatian-Turkish woman, on her turbulent and entertaining search for happiness. It's a journey that takes her away from her unfaithful husband, demanding father, and equally annoying teen daughter in Munich, to the wildly romantic Croatian island of Solta, and, ultimately, back to herself and her roots.
Based on the screenplay by Jane Ainscough (I’m Off Then), Faraway is a movie made by women, for women, with the captivating Naomi Krauss (The International, The Invisibles) in the lead role. The cast also includes Goran Bogdan, Adnan Maral, Artjom Gilz, Bahar Balci, Vedat Erincin, and Davor Tomić. Against a fascinating backdrop, the story is brought to life by director Vanessa Jopp (The Space Between the Lines, Midlife Crisis), cinematographer Eva Katharina Bühler and producer Viola Jäger (Olga Film).
The movie is about Zeynep Altin (Naomi Krauss), who is at the end of her tether. Her husband, daughter, and aging father have all overworked her and pushed her around. Her mother's death and funeral, which nearly ends in disaster, is the final straw for Zeynep, who flees Munich for an island in Croatia. She hopes to find peace, freedom, and herself in the house her mother bought secretly years ago and left to her in her will. If only the former owner, Josip, a true islander, wasn't still living on the property.
