So once you start watching it, you will realize that this show is a mix of family drama, tension between past lovers, and a lot of psychological thrills. And initially it seems good until for the next 20 episodes your brain gets tired.
The show opens with a rocking start- a marriage counselor named Dr Mahecha is found dead. But we don’t immediately dwell upon his murder. Rather, we see a couple named Lorenzo and Silvia get a new counselor in place of him. The couple starts discussing their lives, which is good enough to give us a hint of the issue in their marriage and how they are trying to fix it. It is revealed that Lorenzo was unfaithful to Silvia twice, but despite all that, she decided to stay in the marriage for the sake of “love”. All is fine until one night, a woman named Sonia turns up in the middle of a stormy evening. And no, if you think that she is related to Lorenzo’s life, she is (apparently) not. Rather, she is a friend of Silvia whom she met on a trip. Sonia comes across like a damsel in distress, but she is anything but that. She is here to disrupt the couple’s life. Now I didn’t understand why the makers thought that it wouldn’t be evident to us that Sonia, in her lingerie covered with a sheer shirt, is not here to seduce Lorenzo. Well, she did exactly what we thought. But here’s the twist in the tale.- Sonia isn’t from Lorenzo’s past. She is, in fact, a figure of Silvia’s past. To the extent that the two women even had sex during the trip they took.
Even though Silvia is fractured emotionally by what Lorenzo did, she is ready to give it a shot. But she hasn’t told Lorenzo in detail as to what happened between them on the trip. And while all this is happening, the drama ultimately gets back to the murder. So now we are back to where we started.
What constantly annoyed me was this continuous fusion of sultry vibes, suspicion of literally everyone, and drama. It goes on for 20 episodes when in reality it could have been finished in a few episodes. The way the makers have dragged the entire plot seems very unnecessary. And the plot has no originality. New characters keep on coming, further adding to the already existing complicated plot. In an attempt to make it look engaging, the entire story is just a mess. There is not much suspense. Right from the start, it is evident that Sonia's character is up to something. Again, the character of Isa hardly contributes to anything new. So I am really left with a question for the makers: what were you thinking while making this show? And once you made it, didn’t you watch it yourself to realize what you had created over a span of 20 episodes? Now and then, Sonia is in tears, and there is a lot of confusion between Silvia and Sonia over their fling. Even the pacing will irritate you and make you cry.
The drama is poorly made and offers nothing new or intriguing to watch, and each episode is 40 minutes long and loses its track after a point. So dear readers, watch something else because this will leave you frustrated for sure.
Final Score- [3/10]
