‘Agak Laen’ Netflix Movie Review - A Horror-Comedy to Make You Laugh

Agak Laen is an Indonesian Movie that focuses on the comedy side as well as the horror part of the movie. I had no idea that Agak Lean was the horror movie I needed. This was a very perfect, boring, and interesting movie that made me feel all sorts of emotions and expressions. 

At first, I kept myself with the thoughts of whether it would be a good watch or not, what if I ended up getting disappointed? and all sorts of thoughts that were having a heavy chance for me not to watch it. But it was a great move of mine to go with the flow and give it a try.

Well, I am not at all regretting watching it and I am happy that such a movie made my mood good. To be very honest, Agak Laen isn't the kind of movie that will give off the vibe of Cherry On Top or Masterpiece but it is the type of movie that will leave a good impression for a long time.

The movie started with showing Rawa Senggol Night Market which is a popular Market in the area. The market has several fun activities to do and other things like a usual Market. The most interesting part of the Market is the haunted house but for a long time, things are not working well with the haunted house.

The story focuses on a group of people who work in the market, especially in the entertainment area. It tells the story of the workers who work in the haunted house while managing other things too. The movie keeps the main highlight on the operators of the haunted house named Bene, Oki, Jegel, and Borris. The plot mainly focuses on Oki at first when it shows that his mother is sick but he kind of betrays his mother by getting her signature saying it's for medicines.

He then took his mother’s money and shared it with his teammates or I can say Haunted House operators to save their failing haunted house. One day, when a couple enters the market, the man gets into the haunted house, but he doesn't know that while purchasing the ticket he drops his inhaler.

When he entered the haunted house he got extremely scared when he encountered those jump-scares and fake ghosts. After this, the man fell down and he died. This was very shocking for me as in general this kind of stuff actually happens in reality. But I felt bad laughing when Oki and his teammates tried to check whether he was alive or not. The way they started checking was effortlessly funny.

The real story started then only, after the death of the man they buried his body in the haunted house and made a grave. This incident made the haunted house actually haunted and people started to feel weird and get scared whenever they entered the haunted house. When Oki and his teammates realized the truth, they tried to call the ghost by pissing him off. They peed on his grave to call him and scare the customers and by doing all these stupid acts their haunted house went viral.

I had a great laugh the whole time I was watching it. Then the story shows how their haunted house started to become successful, but the police started to search for the man who died in the haunted house. I enjoyed every scene of Agak Laen except for a few parts. But overall, it was a good watch and worth my time. If you are looking for a horror comedy movie then Agak Laen is there to rescue.
