I think I liked the sixth episode of Agatha All Along a little more than the previous five episodes (I don't think there will be much pleasure in writing this review as I have nothing interesting to say about the show). It perfectly blends humor with a mysterious atmosphere that, like the initial episodes of WandaVision, leads you to wonder what's exactly going on here (it took me a few minutes to realize I was actually witnessing Teen's backstory. This is what happens when you wake up early in the morning to cover a TV series). Episode 6 deals with an origin story. It tells us about Teen/William/Billy. As the episode begins, we watch Teen celebrating his Bat Mitzvah, though we are soon told that his name is William. He dances at the party, his parents look at him proudly, and when he enters a tent for a palm reading session, he meets Lilia Calderu, who sees something in his hands that leaves her surprised. The party is then interrupted by a problem in Westview, so everybody is asked to leave. On their way home, William and his parents are distracted by a red bubble that appears to be shrinking, causing their car to crash into a tree. Initially, it seems like William has died, but he suddenly wakes up and says, "Tommy!" The parents return to the car with a police officer who turns out to be the protector witch, Alice.

William, or let's call him Billy, is diagnosed with amnesia, and his parents try to help him recover his memories. Billy is able to read their thoughts, which only makes him more disturbed and disoriented. Hence, he ends up screaming at them to stop worrying about him. Billy goes to his room, looks in the mirror, and says, "I am William Kaplan," as if forcing himself to accept his identity. Three years later, Billy is with his boyfriend, Eddie, and he explains how the car accident changed him: "I died that night. And when I came back, I was different. Something else. Something more. I'm not William Kaplan. At least not entirely." Eddie reacts calmly and asks him, "If you're not William Kaplan, who are you?" In their search for answers, William and Eddie meet a Reddit user named Bohnerrific69, who turns out to be Ralph. He behaves like a lonely nerd who has spent too much time in his mom's basement cooking up conspiracy theories. Ralph, however, is apparently pursuing a career as an artist and offers tickets to his one-man show in Paramus. You can tell how successful he is through this line, "I really need to fill seats."

Billy eventually goes to Westview to break Agatha out of the "TV show spell," and we get to see things through his perspective. For instance, the interrogation scene between Detective Agatha and Teen actually occurred inside Agatha's home, not at a police station. We then quickly move from one event to the next until we reach the present. Agatha crawls out of her muddy grave and tells Billy that she, from the beginning, suspected that he was Wanda's child ("Even with the sigil in the way, you and your mother have the same tell"). Agatha tells Billy to not feel guilty about his talent. "You survived like witches have been doing for centuries. You saw an opportunity, an empty vessel, and you moved in," Agatha encourages the teenage witch. The two of them finally decide to continue walking on The Withces' Road, though Billy makes it clear that he doesn't trust Agatha at all. Does Agatha care? Not at all.

Final Score – [7/10]
