Netflix has revealed the first trailer for ‘Silverton Siege,’ a movie inspired by True Events of the 1980 anti-apartheid freedom movements. The South African English-language movie will release on April 27 on Netflix, worldwide.

While on a high-profile mission to attack a petrol depot, a trio of Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) freedom fighters realize they have been set up, with police waiting to arrest them. A vicious and deadly chase begins which forces them to seek shelter inside a Bank.

The Trio is unanimous in their belief that someone, perhaps one of them, is an "Impimpi" - a sell-out and police spy. The question is, whom? Pressure builds and tension rises in the bank amongst them. Everyone involved is fighting for the same thing: Freedom. As the Trio realizes their only options are prison or death, they decide to negotiate for the release of Nelson Mandela.

This film is inspired by the real-life incident that sparked the global 'Free Mandela' movement and its cast includes Thabo Rametsi, Noxolo Dlamini, Stefan Erasmus, and Arnold Vosloo. The film also stars Tumisho Masha, Justin Strydom, Elani Dekker, Jacques Gombault, Keaton Ditchfield, and Maureen Wells.

Mandlakayise Walter Dube has directed this film based on a screenplay written by Sabelo Mgidi. This movie also marks the directorial debut of Walter Dube, who has also produced the film alongside Walter Ayres. Pambili Media is the production company behind the film.
