All pre-meds think that they're going to have a stable and secure future once they get to be a doctor but when does the grind stop? The answer is simple and it's that it doesn't. Coming face to face with complicated cases every day does take a toll on the lives of doctors as well and Breathless is a great attempt at showcasing that. It flows in the right direction and picks up various topics one by one. It's by the end of the last episode that the audience will realize that most of the struggles do go unnoticed and how little personal time a doctor gets.

Breathless is a medical series and might become a cult favorite in the future like Grey's Anatomy. Various cases have been taken up and discussed but I'm afraid that the non-medicos will find it difficult to like. Multiple clinical terms have been used and if you're thinking that you can bypass them and just enjoy the show, it might be a tad bit difficult. The series revolves around various physicians, their residents, and the things happening in their lives. We get introduced to Biel, Jesica, Rodri, May, Rocario, Leo, and several others. Due to multiple characters in focus, there are numerous subplots, however, the good news is that the audience won't feel overwhelmed or find it hard to remember what these characters are going through.

The sad reality of medical professional services is exposed, that is how the facilities have limited resources yet cater to the needs of thousands (or maybe more). The residents of the hospital in Valencia go on a strike for their rights as they've been struggling for a long time for resources. The various events that happened in the hospital in the first and second episodes come as a shock. This clearly displays that the medical system not just in one country but in all needs to undergo serious reforms. The doctors protested and went on strike. So, what were the implications? You'll get to know as the story progresses. Mental health is emphasised and those who're in this profession know how sleep-deprived or underpaid this line is. The writers have put forward relevant issues in the most fascinating manner. I don't think that there would've been a better way to portray it.

Jesica and Biel share a great chemistry but they've always had complications with taking their bonding forward. I found Jesica’s character to be a bit raw and confusing as she didn't know what to do. Despite being a great doctor, she couldn't have a good personal life. The doctors in the series have their set of problems and they're brought up systematically. From being in a legal battle to being in a battle on the OT table, the audience will need courage to watch the last scenes. I think that Breathless did great still, there are certain moments where it's tiresome to watch it. The focus of the series has been equally balanced and the ones in healthcare will relate to the series. This might not be the end of Breathless as the ending has been left open. The show didn't have a happy or a sad ending as they didn't choose between them and rather showed both scenarios. I won't say that I'm excited for the new season yet, it seems promising. The cast has done a great job and the hospital setup has been fully utilized to put forth a great show. There are a total of eight episodes with a duration of 40-50 minutes each. So, are you ready for some adrenaline?

Final Score – [7/10]
