‘Gen V’ Season 2 Officially Begins Filming at Amazon

The second season of Amazon's hit series Gen V has officially begun filming this Monday (May 13) in Toronto, Canada. Steve M. Boyum is directing the first episode of the second season. In the first season, Boyum directed the fourth episode.

The production was supposed to begin last month but suffered a setback in March due to the unfortunate death of Chance Perdomo, one of the show's leading stars. Amazon and the team behind Gen V have confirmed that the role of Andre Anderson played by Chance won't be recast instead the storylines will be adjusted to honor his legacy.

‘Gen V’ Season 2 is expected to take a little more than four months to conclude the production. As per the current schedule, the second season of Gen V will wrap up filming on September 27, 2024. Gen V Season 2 is likely to be released sometime in 2025.

The Boys spinoff was just as popular as the original.  Gen V earned the critics' praise as well as the audience's approval. The first season of Gen V is directly linked with the upcoming fourth season of The Boys. In the mid-credit scene of the Gen V season finale, Billy Butcher can be seen investigating the ruins of the Woods lab under Goldolkin University. The Woods was completely empty as Cate and Sam had already released all the captives, but that doesn't stop Butcher to say, "What a bunch of cunts," as he appears from the dark with a torch. ‘The Boys’ Season 4 will be released on June 13, 2024, with the first three episodes, followed by a new episode each week, ending with the epic season finale on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

The majority of the leading cast from the first season is returning including, Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer / Little Cricket, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, and Asa Germann as Samuel "Sam" Riordan.

In the final episode of the first season, Marie, While Jordan and Emma try to keep the chaos under control, Marie shows more control over her abilities. Sam has hallucinations of Luke, who urges him to stop and explains how he died, but Sam ignores him and lets Cate ruin his capacity to feel emotions. Andre discovers that Polarity's seizure was caused by brain damage caused by his powers prior to acquiring the Polarity mantle to aid in the fight against the rampaging supers. Cate attempts to brainwash Jordan, but Marie detonates her arm. Homelander enters and accuses her of "attacking [her] own kind" before utilizing heat vision on her. An agitated Homelander later watches the news, which blames Marie, Jordan, Emma, and Andre for Sam and Cate's attack while hailing the couple as the "Guardians of Godolkin". Meanwhile, Marie awakens in a locked hospital room alongside Jordan, Emma, and Andre. 

Gen V follows the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they test their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries while contending for the school's top ranking at America's only college exclusively for young adult superheroes - Godolkin University.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Neal H. Moritz, James Weaver, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Garth Ennis, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers on the spinoff series. Serving as a co-executive producer is Brant Engelstein. Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios are the producers of the series, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film. Loreli Alanís serves as the executive in charge of Point Grey Pictures.
