Incoming on Netflix is about teens going back to school. Freshmen have to make their place in school and avoid being called names like ‘foetus’ by which they'll be addressed for all the remaining four years. It's about navigating the rough waters and how one shouldn't forget their true self. Benj likes Bailey and can be seen practicing kissing her in his mirror. Alyssa, his sister, caught him several times. She's recently got a nose job and is very peculiar about her appearance. Bailey is a great soul and remains unaffected by what's going on in the world. Just like these characters, you'll be introduced to a variety of people and feel what they've been going through.

In my opinion, Incoming did a good job with its plot and casting. I however did notice that the writers have spent an enormous time on the party scene. Well, this was a turning point in the lives of the freshmen so, it did need a substantial amount of time yet, it didn't need to be the whole point of the movie. It's depicted as an event that was an eye-opener for multiple individuals. You see the true colours of all the characters and there's love in the air too.

I felt bad for the chemistry teacher. He's always been shown to be talking to himself and trying to blend in with the students. His going to the party was a huge mistake which he did realize after getting his face and body burnt. When you see him trying to blend in with students, you feel pity for him. The adult phase of this teacher wasn't easy and hence he tried to make some memories with these adolescents not realising what the outcome would be. You see him teaching them chemistry behind bongs and mixing drinks, however, what you need to notice is his eagerness for some company. From this, one can understand that adult life comes with its complexities and I am all in for the way the writers and the makers have depicted it.

Just like this old man, the four freshmen, including Benj and his friends were trying hard to be famous among the sophomores. Koosh was abused by his elder brother and somehow he never considered that violence. For him, his brother was a role model who was super cool among his pupils. So, Koosh wanted to impress him by pulling out some moves that could be considered immoral. Benj also had his little awakening, but it was Connor and Eddie who stole the show. These two are absolute gentlemen and proved to be the perfect ingredients for hilarious scenes in this movie. They would've earned respect by the end and you'll be amazed to see how. The favorite character award in Incoming goes to these two.

In all, this film about the transition into adolescence and adult life is equally funny and beautiful. With a short duration of 90 minutes, the writers, makers, and actors have nailed their parts. There'll be bits that'll seem boring, but everything makes perfect sense by the end. Alyssa gets to realize that one should be beautiful from the inside rather than correcting one's physical appearance. Several powerful moments will make your day. So, be seated with your popcorn to enjoy this fun ride, and don't miss the poop scene.

Final Score – [7/10]
