Japanese Drama ‘Tokyo Tower’ is Now Streaming on Viki

In Tokyo Tower, Toru Kojima (Nagase) is a medical student trapped in the monotony of his day-to-day life. By chance, he meets Shifumi Asano, a beautiful and mysterious architect whom he can't help but want to know more about - even though she is married. Meanwhile, Koji Ohara (Matsuda), inspired by his friend's taboo relationship with an older woman, yearns for a May-December love of his own. As a result, he starts to seduce Kimiko Kawano, the married mother of a student he tutors.

Adapted from Naoki Prize-winning author Kaori Ekuni’s legendary romance novel of the same name, the series originally aired from April 20, 2024 - June 22, 2024, on Japanese broadcaster TV Asahi. It was previously adapted as a feature film in 2005 starring Junichi Okada (V6) and Jun Matsumoto (ARASHI).

“I have always admired unconventional situations like a 'forbidden love,' as they offer a unique allure,” said Genta Matsuda. “I hope to present a new side of Genta Matsuda to everyone! Actress Megumi-san has a cool and stoic image, even from the variety shows I’ve watched where she comes off as a strong older sister figure (laughs). I only just met her right before the shoot started, and she is very beautiful. I really enjoyed working with her.”
