‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Officially Wraps Up Filming at Paramount Plus

Paramount Plus' upcoming crime-thriller series, “Mayor of Kingstown” has officially wrapped up filming today (Oct. 2) in Toronto, Canada. Starring Jeremy Renner and Kyle Chandler in the leading role, the series will premiere on November 14 on Paramount Plus. You can watch the trailer of Kingstown above.

The 10-episode series began production on May 17. Renner was one of the first to complete his part of the shoot as he wrapped filming on September 29 while Hamish Allan-Headley completed it on October 1st. Nishi Munshi was one among the remaining cast members, who wrapped up filming their part on the last day of the shoot.

The series follows the McLusky family, who are power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the only thriving industry is incarceration. The series examines their efforts to bring order and justice to Kingstown that lacks both. It tackles themes of systematic racism, corruption, and injustice.

Sheridan co-created the series with Hugh Dillon and both of them are serving as executive producers. Renner and Antoine Fuqua have also executive produced along with David Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and Michael Friedman. MTV Entertainment Studios, Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions, and 101 Studios are the production companies behind the series. 

The series also stars Hugh Dillon, Emma Laird, Pha’rez Lass, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Aidan Gillen, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Dianne Wiest. The recurring cast of the series includes James Jordan, Nishi Munshi, Nichole Galicia, Andrew Howard, Michael Beach, Necar Zadegan, Jason Kelley, Mandela Van Peebles, Rob Kirkland, and Natasha Marc.

Jeremy Renner is playing Mike McClusky, the mayor of Kingstown.

Kyle Chandler is playing Mitch McLusky, older brother to Mike McLusky (Renner). In a community where prisons are the economic engines for the entire city, Mitch is a fixer, both inside and outside the prison system.

Derek Webster is playing Stevie, a Kingstown police officer.

Taylor Handley is playing Kyle McClusky, a police officer trying to become a trooper. He is the youngest of the McClusky sons and brother to Mike McClusky.

Game of Thrones alum Aiden Gillen is playing Milo Sunter, a leader of the Russian mob currently serving a life sentence in Kingstown’s supermax prison.

Hamish Allan-Headley is playing Robert, a SWAT Captain on the drug task force.

Emma Laird is playing Iris, a dancer who utilizes her charms to her advantage until they are used against her.

Dianne Wiest is playing Miriam, the McLusky family matriarch who teaches at the Kingstown women’s prison.
