After the shocking ending of the third episode, there were plenty of expectations from Episode 4. I won't say that this episode is disappointing, but it seems a lot was missing.

As the previous episode confirmed, Tabitha made her way back to the town in the ambulance she was being carried to the hospital along with Henry (Victor's father). But she wasn't alone, as the cop who responded to their accident and the ambulance workers also arrived in this nightmarish place. Despite Tabitha warning them, they kept going round and round after meeting the fallen tree in the middle of the road. By the time they stopped in the town, it was already dark and the creatures were out in full force. At the same time, Ethan saw the ambulance and ran towards it as he has already received one mysterious call back in the day about her mom coming back in an ambulance. However, as Ethan rushes towards the ambulance, Jim and Boyd catch him and bring him back to the safety of the house. When the creatures attacked, the two ambulance guys were the first to be torn apart but the lady cop escaped by firing multiple rounds. However, the cop left Tabitha cuffed inside the ambulance and Henry on the stretcher.

The sound of the firing alerted Boyd who responded and rushed to the ambulance along with Jim and Randall. He was shocked to see Tabitha in the back of the Ambulance, but there was no time to ask anything. The creatures had already surrounded the ambulance while Randall was separated. One of the creatures gives Boyd a choice - either he runs away with the ambulance to save everyone inside it or he can save Randall. Boyd drove off, while Randall was surrounded and likely to be butchered.

The episode has a bit of tension but that could have been more if Boyd hesitated a bit more in leaving Randall alone. It felt as if everyone had given up and nobody was thinking about facing these monsters. What was more shocking was when Tabitha arrived at the Colony house, none of the folks even tried to ask Tabitha where was she all this time, they did look a bit surprised though. This surprised me as well as the people who are desperate to get out of this nightmare didn't even ask a question to the only person who might have escaped. For a second, even if I consider that the folks didn't know that she actually had escaped, they should still wonder how she was in an ambulance with the newcomers. However, considering that Nicky was accidentally shot and ultimately died, the people in the colony house might not be in the right situation to confront Tabitha. The only person who seems to have questioned her is Jim, but that was also off-camera and he doesn't seem to believe her.

One of the weirdest parts of the episode was Fatima’s behavior. After the death of Nicky, she was seen fingering or bullet wound and licking and sucking the blood out of it. For me, it was even more creepier than the creatures tearing apart a body. Previously Fatima was eating rotten vegetables.

The episode also shows Victor unlocking some past memories making Jasper a mysterious character or a creature even though it's just a puppet. Meanwhile deep inside the woods, Jade, Kenny, and Kristi are spending the night inside one of the huts when they hear a mysterious knocking. The episode doesn't explore this further.

The episode has a cliffhanger ending when the creatures bring Randall near the colony house and throw him in the ambulance. Surprisingly, Randall was still alive, but barely breathing. The next episode will surely uncover his fate and may put Tabitha in the spotlight.

Final Score - [7/10]
