So if you are wondering why the show is named “Oasis”, here is the story behind it. Set in an exclusive resort named Oasis, the resort acts as a playground for privileged families wanting to enjoy private beaches, extravagant parties, and luxurious vacations. However, all of this comes to an end when a young woman mysteriously disappears. Now there is a mounting distrust amongst people. Police come to investigate the issue, due to which no guest or employee is allowed to leave the premises of the resort. What started as a place to relax soon turned into a place of chaos and crime. The question is: where did the girl disappear? Who was behind all this?

The atmosphere that Oasis creates is one of suspense and intrigue. There is a big contrast in how they manage to show the same resort in two different lights: one that of relaxation and one that ends up being a crime scene. The resort looks beautiful with the beaches and the services it offers. And then suddenly, everything comes to a standstill with all the ruckus that follows along. Now, the resort is a golden cage for those trapped in it. With each episode, another layer of uncertainty and trust issues is revealed between these people.

The good thing about Oasis is its cast. Ana Garcés, Tomy Aguilera, and Victoria Kantch lead the show with their acting skills, which portrays to us the gravity of the situation they are all in. Everything turns upside down, and the only way to understand that is by how they act and show us the same. The supporting cast, too, such as Paco Tous and Verónica Sánchez, manages to deliver great acting in their respective roles.

The only issue is that the character development hardly takes place. From start to end, one might expect some survival skills to kick off in the characters. But that doesn’t happen at all. Things are slow and laid back when it comes to watching the characters grow in their roles. Another issue is that the plot works on a familiar thriller skeleton. While watching, you will realise that you have watched these sorts of plots many times in the past in many movies and TV shows. As a result, the thrill of watching goes away. Somewhere down the watching line, you might lose interest in watching the Oasis as it does become slightly predictable.

Even the twists and turns in Oasis are hardly thrilling. It doesn’t offer what one might expect while watching the first episode. The good thing is that the show is visually appealing with how it has been shot with the help of vibrant colours and youthful energy by way of the characters. The show is evenly paced. Not once does it run with the pace, nor does it slow down. Everything fits in perfectly well when it comes to the overall speed of the show. So if you want to watch a show with a thriller and also not get bored, then Oasis is what you can watch, provided you are able to ignore the flaws.

Final Score- [6/10]
