After keeping the fans weeks in suspense, Resident Alien has been finally renewed for a fourth season but will move to USA Network from SyFy. Both channels are part of NBCUniversal. Season 4 will continue to stream on Peacock like the previous seasons.

The third season was limited to an 8-episode outing which was half the number of episodes of the second season that has 16 episodes. Due to the fall in viewership, there was already a doubt that the third season might be the final season as the budget was heavily cut reducing it to only 8 episodes. Now, with the confirmation of Season 4 moving to USA Network, there is likely to be another budget cut, which may not reduce the number of episodes but could affect the quality.

Season 3 averaged 3.3 million views and 1 million in the 18-49 demographic across all platforms across 35 days. Fans have been on the edge of their seats since the climax, which supplied Sheriff Mike with indisputable proof of extraterrestrial life while revealing that Harry and Bridget remain confined aboard the Greys' mothership inside the Moon. Harry who returned to Earth with Asta and D'Arcy is a shape-shifting member of the hungry Mantid species (played by guest actor Clancy Brown).

Season 3 of Resident Alien premiered on February 14, 2024, with 465K viewers on SyFy which is less than half the numbers the Season 2 premiere got. However, the eighth and final episode of Season 3 which premiered on April 3, 2024, has 622K viewers which was more than 550K viewers of the second season finale.

In the third season, the Greys seem to be a very real threat. However, the Greys are not the only alien species on Earth with Harry. There's also an avian-looking thing hanging out in Harry's cabin. It's been a while since Harry had a romantic encounter.

In the Season 3 finale, when Joseph learns of the Greys' plans to render the Earth inhospitable to all other life forms, including Grey-human hybrids, he chooses to assist Harry stop them. Harry, Asta, Joseph, and Bridget arrive at the base; Asta uses a remote to activate a portal and pursues D'arcy, despite Harry's caution. Joseph obtains another remote from a grey-human hybrid and delivers it to Harry and Bridget, allowing them to access the portal as well. He then uses Harry's alien ball to turn the geyser water into sand, thwarting the Greys' plans. At the end of the episode, General McCallister enters a portal using a remote obtained from Joseph. D'arcy brings Ben and Kate's kid to their doorstep. Sahar brings Max to apologize to Harry, but he screams as he notices the seemingly liberated Mantid behind "Harry's" human body. Harry and Bridget are later revealed to be apprehended in the Greys' Moon headquarters.

Season 3 cast of the sci-fi comedy series includes Alan Tudyk as the titular alien, Sara Tomko as Asta Twelvetrees, Corey Reynolds as Mike Thompson, Alice Wetterlund as D'Arcy Bloom, Levi Fiehler as Ben Hawthorne, Judah Prehn as Max Hawthorne, and Elizabeth Bowen as Liv Baker.

Based on the comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, 'Resident Alien' follows the story of an alien who crash-lands on Earth, kills, and takes the identity of a pathology physician on vacation. He is asked to do an autopsy on the town's doctor, who died in unusual circumstances. He struggles with the moral dilemma of his undercover mission while simultaneously coping with a 9-year-old boy who suspects him of being an alien.

Executive producer Sheridan from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, collaborated with Amblin  TV and Dark Horse Entertainment and has adapted Resident Alien for television. Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse, Justin Falvey, and Darryl Frank of Amblin  TV also serve as executive producers.
