Netflix has revealed a new full-length trailer for the Korean-language movie, ‘20th Century Girl.’ The romantic comedy-drama ‘20th Century Girl’ will release on October 21 on Netflix, worldwide.
In the movie, a videotape received in the winter of 2019 brings back memories of the 20th century. "From now on, you'll know everything that he does. You can count on me!" In 1999, A 17-year-old Bo-ra (Kim You-jung) undertakes the most essential assignment of her teenage, where friendship triumphs over all else, including love. Her friend Yeon-doo (Noh Yoon-seo) is traveling abroad for heart surgery, and Bo-ra must observe and report on Yeon-doo's first crush."His name is Baek Hyun-jin. Height, 181 cm. Shoe size, 280 mm. He likes basketball. And he’s always with his best friend." To learn everything she can about Hyun-jin (Park Jung-woo), Bo-ra targets his best friend Woon-ho (Byeon Woo-seok). Things don’t go as planned, however, and Bo-ra is surprised to find her own heart beating faster.
Friendship comes before love for seventeen-year-old Bo-ra. Her first love was a wonderful but tragic experience, and it returns in the twenty-first century. This story, first told by Director Bang Woo-ri in her short film Mrs. Young, is about a middle-aged woman who meets the son of her first love, a young guy who looks just like his father. Bang received the Blue Dragon Awards for Best Short Picture for Mrs. Young, and she pens and directs this full-length adaptation, which is her debut feature film.
Kim You-jung plays Na Bo-ra, a tough cookie with a taekwondo black belt and a devoted friend with a gold heart. She keeps a close eye on Hyun-jin, the object of her friend's unrequited love. Kim has demonstrated a wide range of acting abilities in films like The Chaser, Thread of Lies, and the newly released The 8th Night and Backstreet Rookie. She will portray the complicated emotions of a 17-year-old girl stuck between love and friendship.
Byeon Woo-seok, who has impressed fans in dramas such as Record of Youth and Search WWW, plays Poong Woon-ho, Bo-ra's classmate in her media broadcasting class from the same year.
Park Jung-woo plays Woon-ho's best buddy Baek Hyun-jin, who comes under Bo-ra's scrutiny as the love interest of her best friend Yeon-doo. Park has been a promising newcomer, with roles in the web drama Love Playlist and the drama Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation.
Roh Yoon-seo plays Yeon-doo, Bora's best friend who falls in love with Hyun-jin at first sight and urges her to learn everything she can about him before leaving for the United States for heart surgery. Roh is a bright newbie who, as a model turned actor, proved a superb fit with the Yeon-doo character during her audition. This story about two friends' initial loves and dedication to each other is brought to life by the fascinating portrayal of two pals, each with individual colors as diverse as lavender and lime.
