On New Year's Day, Marvel has revealed a new trailer (watch above) for their upcoming series, Wonder Man, while also confirming the release format and timing for the show. The upcoming eight-episode series will be released on January 27, 2026, at 6 pm PT on Disney+ worldwide, with all the episodes being available at the same time.

The action-packed comedy series follows Simon Williams, an ambitious Hollywood actor who is attempting to establish his profession. During a fortuitous meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose most notable roles may be behind him, Simon discovers that legendary director Von Kovak is redoing the superhero classic "Wonder Man." In this film, two actors at different ends of their careers work tirelessly to land life-changing parts, providing audiences with a behind-the-scenes look into the entertainment industry. Check out the new poster below.

The trailer begins with motivating remarks as Simon prepares for an audition, underlining the high stakes. It introduces his unexpected mentorship under Trevor Slattery, a washed-up actor with a notorious background - "Where have I seen him before? Pretty sure he used to be a terrorist". The trailer shows them navigating intensive preparations, with Simon confiding, "We both have a lot riding on this." The narrative shifts to Simon's big opportunity: auditioning for a superhero remake directed by the eccentric Mr. Kovak. Clips depict a luxurious mansion meeting and discussions questioning the project's relevance - "A superhero remake. Not exactly what we'd expect from an Oscar-winning director". Simon displays desperation, but a surprise occurs when he is asked to sign a form declaring that he does not have superpowers. Simon battles with control as his abilities emerge, as suggested by small strength displays and energy impacts. The trailer heightens tension by classifying him as an "extraordinary threat," which leads to chase scenes. Humorous exchanges include Trevor asking about super speed - "Are you going to use super speed or what?", with Simon opting for his car instead.

The trailer highlights Simon's powers and the Wonder Man reboot that echoes his comic origins as an actor-turned-hero with ionic abilities, and Trevor's "terrorist" past nods to his Mandarin role in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. DODC references connect to Spider-Man: No Way Home and Ms. Marvel. It avoids major spoilers by focusing on human relationships and the growing clash between celebrity, power, and government involvement.

Created by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: Brand New Day) and Andrew Guest (Community, Hawkeye), Marvel Television's Wonder Man stars Emmy Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, who reprises his role as Trevor Slattery, and Zlatko Burić as Mr. Kovak. The cast also includes Demetrius Grosse, Byron Bowers, Lauren Glazier, and Arian Moayed.
