TV Shows Reviews

Korean Reality shows are getting more and more interesting day by day, especially those shows that give escape room vibes. Agents of Mystery is a new reality show that is very interesting and gives off the vibe of escape games. The reality show is too good to watch, moreover, it has a great star cast.

One of the main reasons why Agents of Mystery is one of the best reality shows this year is its cast lineup and the interesting plot. The show has the concept of solving cases that are eerie and have happened in Mysterious places.

The reality show focuses on 6 individuals, Lee Hye Ri, Aespa’s Karina, Kim Do Hoon, Lee Eun Ji, John Park, and Lee Yong Jin. These 6 together form a team, and they are assigned some cases or missions that are very mysterious and haven't been solved. XIN which is also known as X Investigation Network is an international organization that investigates mysterious phenomena that are occurring all over the world.

They have an interesting device that possesses the feature to detect unique electric waves that are emitted from an unknown substance or source called X-electric waves. So the 6 agents will be deployed to the locations that have been showing green signals for X-electric waves. They will be teleported to the locations and solve the cases secretly without getting caught.

The story started to become more interesting when it was declared that the device they would be using for teleporting would be a lift. But the lift also has pros and cons. The pros are that it can teleport them to the locations without any issues and the cons are they get a limited time to solve the cases and they have to get back if any of them leaves behind then they can even face consequences such as dematerialization.

The whole reality show is exciting, it kept me curious till the end and I was so indulged with it that I was unaware of the happenings around me. It gave me Busted and The Devil’s Plan vibes, if you like such a series then this one is for you. I didn't only enjoy the plot and how the setup was made, but it was a great choice of having actors, singers, and comedians in one frame. All of them played together and they did their work so well, when the situation was serious, Yong Jin and Eun Ji did their work well by making everyone laugh and pulling their comedian roles perfectly.

On the other hand, Karina did a great job despite being an Idol, she has the potential to be an actress. She was quick-witted and smart enough to handle things and solve the Puzzles. As expected from the reality show queen, Hyeri also did a great job. She was invested in solving things and unsolved clues. But the man who stole my whole attention was John Park. He almost solved everything smoothly, and he was extremely smart while putting everything in one place and joining the dots. I was happy to see Do Joon in the same frame too. He helped the members in finding clues, and I can say every member played well and was smart enough to solve the equations.

Overall, it was a great decision of mine to watch Agents of Mystery. I seriously hope for a second season with the same cast. The first season surely deserves more hype, and it should be added to the list of best Netflix Korean Reality shows.

Final Score- [8/10]
