Paramount+ has revealed a new trailer for Halo Season 2. Earlier, the release date for the highly anticipated second season of the hit series was confirmed, while also revealing a trailer during its panel at CCXP in São Paolo, Brazil. ‘Halo’ Season 2 will be released on February 8, 2024, on Paramount+ with its first two episodes, followed by a new episode every Thursday until the tenth and the final episode.

The trailer is filled with a lot of action scenes and confirms the return of Master Chief. It also gives us a first look at Joseph Morgan's character James Ackerson, who can be seen trying to touch the Keystone. The trailer ends with eerie music with a glimpse of the Ring.

In Season 2, Master Chief John-117 leads his elite Spartan unit against the Covenant, an extraterrestrial enemy. Following a horrific occurrence on a remote planet, John cannot escape the sensation that his battle is about to change, and he risks everything to prove what no one else believes - that the Covenant is poised to strike humanity's most powerful bastion. With the galaxy on the verge of catastrophe, John sets out on a trip to discover the Halo, the key to humankind's redemption or extinction.

HALO stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Spartan-117, and Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, both also serve as producers this season. Additional returning cast members include Jen Taylor as Cortana, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha (Reef Break), Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, and Danny Sapani.

New additions to the cast in the second season include Joseph Morgan and Cristina Rodlo. Morgan joins the series as James Ackerson, a powerful intelligence operative who has spent his career rising through the ranks of the UN Security Council's covert Office of Naval Intelligence. Rodlo is Talia Perez, a corporal specializing in linguistics for a UNSC Marine Corps communications team, and a new recruit who has yet to see actual combat. Returning from season one, Laera (Fiona O’Shaughnessy) is Soren’s confidant, wife and partner in crime. Soren and Laera’s son, Kessler (Tylan Bailey), has had a relatively peaceful, if unusual, childhood growing up on the Rubble.

In the first season finale, John commands Cortana to take control of his body so he can simultaneously save his team and recover the keystones without activating them, despite her warnings that doing so could permanently wipe away his memories. After John takes a fatal hit, Cortana assumes control of John, rescues the Silver Team, and manages to escape with them and both of the keystones. As they depart, Kai asks John if it's really him under the helmet, but he merely gives her a sidelong glance.

The second season of HALO is executive produced by David Wiener alongside Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television. Kiki Wolfkill serves as executive producer for Xbox/343 Industries, with Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture and Gian Paolo Varani. The series is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Led by showrunner and executive producer David Wiener (Brave New World), the series takes place in the universe that first debuted in 2001 with the launch of Xbox®’s first HALO game. The series follows an epic struggle between humans and an alien threat known as the Covenant in the 26th century. ‘Halo’ was officially renewed for Season 2 in February 2022, before the first season premiere.
