Among many rumors, Tobey Maguire is the only actor who seems to be unofficially confirmed to appear in Doctor Strange 2

Movies News

Among the biggest rumors of cameos in Doctor Strange 2 was the return of Hugh Jackman as the iconic character of Wolverine/Logan. We don't know the origin of the rumor but it was reported around 2 months back that Jackman is returning as Wolverine in the MCU as a variant along with other X-Men characters.

The same rumor was echoed by multiple news portals, fan pages, and groups across the internet. Even Hugh Jackman was asked by a fan about his cameo in the film, which he didn't deny directly nor confirmed but said, "We Will See."

Now, multiple sources are confirming that he was never part of the film. Scooper My Time to Shine Hello, who has the info from the Multiverse of Madness screening confirms that Wolverine is not part of the film. The same was echoed by another scooper ViewerAnon, who says that Jackman was not in the movie before the MOM reshoots, and when the reshoots were happening, he was in New York for previews and rehearsals of Broadway's The Music Man. It will be a complete surprise if he is part of the film.

However, as confirmed by director Sam Raimi, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ production is yet to be complete and there are still more than three months left for the release. "We’re just starting to test the picture and we’ll find out if there’s anything that’s got to be picked up," said Raimi in an interview. There is a possibility that the film will return for another round of reshoots if required. So, if required and Hugh Jackman agrees, fans still have a chance to get him to see on the big screen as Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman was last seen playing Wolverine in the 2017 movie, Logan, where he played an old version of the character who dies in the end. After the release of the film, Jackman confirmed that he has said goodbye to the character and he will not return for any other film.

Recently, we revealed that Tobey Maguire is almost confirmed to return as Spider-Man in the MOM. Now, the same news has been echoed by multiple portals including The Disinsider, Movieweb, and The Direct. They are all confirming Tobey is once again returning after the success of No Way Home, however, they do not know about Andrew Garfield yet.

Rumors regarding Doctor Strange are really wild. many characters and actors from the past non-MCU Marvel movies are rumored to make cameos in the film. This also includes actors who have never been part of the Marvel family, like Tom Cruise is rumored to play an Iron Man variant and his superior version and John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic. Other rumors include Nicolas Cage returning as Ghost Rider, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Wesley Snipes as Blade, and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ follows Dr. Stephen Strange, who distorted space-time by casting a forbidden spell that was too dangerous opens the door to a mysterious madness called the "Multiverse." To restore the world where everything is changing, he seeks help from his ally magician Wong and Wanda aka Scarlet Witch, who wields one of the most formidable powers of the Avengers. But, they are scared that they can no longer do anything on their own as a terrible threat to humanity is approaching humankind and the entire universe. And to surprise, the greatest threat to the universe is a person who looks exactly like Doctor Strange.

Directed by Sam Raimi, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ will release in theaters on May 6, 2022.
