Everything Calls for Salvation Season 2 begins on a positive note with Daniele starting to work as a nurse in the same psychiatric hospital where he was kept for his treatment in the first season. The second season is about Daniele realizing his demons and facing them head-on. He begins his internship at the hospital and at the same time is battling for the custody of his daughter. Nina, his ex-partner doesn't deem him fit to be near their daughter due to all the things that happened in the first season. She herself doesn't consider him unfit but it's her mother's constant nagging that gets her influenced and hence she's ready to battle him head-on for the legal battle. This doesn't go well with Daniele because he's just twenty-three years old and is already facing a lot.
Talking about his work front, there he's seen working in the male psychiatric ward where he comes across a rude prick. Rachid, the patient can be seen instigating our male lead at several points. When there occurs a physical fight between the two, Daniele is blackmailed as the fight could go in his records which will further undermine his chances of getting him the custody of his daughter. The poor man is asked to buy various things and if Rachid wasn't enough, Matilde too asked him to buy all sorts of things including lingerie, foundation, nail paints, and other things. Rachid was in the ward after he was seen on the streets, being heavily dependent on drugs. Matilde was a regular at the hospital and from what I could gather she had body image issues. There's also a scene where she can be seen attempting suicide however, at the end it's shown that she's well and alive.
This may be the final season of the show Everything Calls for Salvation and there might not be any renewal. The final episode of this season ended with Daniele finally finding his firm ground and exploring the world with the power of his poetry. Daniele had to face a lot of struggle in his personal life after Nina and him were no longer together. He finally met a good person who accepted his grey areas. From this, one can learn how to be accepted and loved at the same time isn't an impossible task and when the right person comes, they love you as you are. It's Daniele’s family's unconditional support for him that too catches the eyes of the audience.
In all, it's a sweet show that one might enjoy. It's best suited for times when you have a calm mind and are in for watching something light. I'm not impressed by the writing style or the acting as they were average. What caught my eye was the motive behind making a show like this one. There's life beyond the cloudy days, one mustn't lose hope and keep on moving forward. The five episodes in this season represented the five weeks the male lead spent at the hospital. The last episode leaps over three months and ends on a sweet note.
Final Score – [6/10]
