I highly recommend everyone to watch this show. The way the plot develops, the twists and turns will keep you hooked throughout the show. So here’s what happens in “No one saw us leave”. Set in the year 1964 in Mexico, Leo and Valeria are married and parents to two children: a boy named Isaac and a girl named Tamara. Though their marriage is falling apart, they are wonderful parents to the children. However, the main reason for the marriage falling apart was Valeria’s affair. They weren’t divorced, but somewhere her affair had left a deep impact on Leo. For him, this became more of a public embarrassment. The former couple was living separately, with the children living with their mother. However, as an act of revenge, Leo, with the help and guidance of his parents, manages to kidnap the children. He flees with them to Paris under a fake identity. The moment Valeria comes to know, the first thing she does is confront his parents. Even his parents inform her that the children are gone for good with Leo, and that she should not try to get in touch. But Valeria isn’t the one to give up. Hence, she decides to hire private investigators who give her the information that the father and the children are in Paris.
In Paris, we see how Leo is struggling with the kids because, in every true sense, it was Valeria who knew them in and out. The kids also miss their mother. The moment she lands in Paris, she starts her search for the kids and even finds them momentarily before Leo takes them away. Leo isn’t portrayed as a very confident man, and we see how, at every step, whenever he gets nervous, he contacts his father. Somewhere in between, even though he kidnapped the kids, he isn’t the kind of parent Valeria is. We are shown the flashbacks where the kids, especially Tamara, are having a sweet time with their mother. This proves that for the kids, too, while Leo is important, Valeria is the one they truly long for.
The rest of the show focuses on Valeria’s struggle to regain custody of her children. In great detail, the makers show us why the marriage broke up and why the plot of revenge was created by Leo. The question is: will Valeria ever get her children back?
All in all, the show is excellent. It is one of the best I have seen so far. At every step, there are twists and turns. The pacing is so apt that even though episodes are almost an hour long, you won't feel bored or the need to skip. The writers here deserve praise because they managed to show us that even though Valeria had an affair, that doesn’t mean that she wasn’t a loving and doting mother to her children. And that’s the point her father-in-law is trying to prove to justify his son’s action, it is evident by the children’s and their comfort level with the mother that they want to be with her. Based on a true story, the makers and writers have made a great screen adaptation in the form of the show. When it comes to acting, the entire cast has outdone themselves. Be it the adults or the children, every emotion displayed by them is poignant. Therefore, this is definitely a great watch for those who enjoy something thrilling. I can assure you, not even one moment will pass that you will feel bored.
