TV Shows Reviews

After almost rejecting the offer of turning their podcast into a film due to various reasons and their prime focus being the whereabouts of Sazz, this episode picks up with the investigation (the thing where Mabel, Oliver, and Charles are on the same page). Sazz was a stunt double and she did dangers safely. Her various interviews have been included where she can be seen telling a little bit about her old life and why she chose to be a stunt double. Her ashes are in Charles' hands and the trio collects the ashes recovered from the incinerator in a jar. Some jokes are thrown here and there which make you laugh amidst this chaotic scenario. The famous podcasters decided to call the police but the move wasn't made due to the long wait. The demise left a deep impact on Charles as she was his oldest and greatest friend. The poor man has begun to hear her which can be considered a result of the trauma and it can also be said that he has started to lose his mind. This response is natural when you realize that the murderer was probably after him and Sazz was a misfire.

The podcasters have worn their detective hats. Only Oliver and Mabel are in their right mind. With the limited information available, the investigators have started their job. The West Tower residents are in question. Charles being the target sounded preposterous to him however the doubts about it can't be ruled out. Sazz stick-ons are being evaluated as they've proved to contain vital hints.  Jan is the point of commonality here as both Charles and Sazz dated her. The westies are in question as the building lies directly in front. The prime suspects are Stink Eye Joe, the Sauce family, Christmas all the time guy and one apartment that never opens its blinds.

Oliver and Mabel convince Charles to stay home as he might as well as the target. He's in constant denial and now he's in the apartment with a deadbolt. Charles feels bad and strange things are happening in his apartment. One can say that you shouldn't reveal too much through podcasts or social media. Oliver and Mabel meet the Westies and try to narrow down their suspicions by meeting them all except the apartment which always has its blinds on. There is ham in the shower of Westies, a weird tradition and I think that it could prove to be crucial information. Sazz knew a lot of things and right before she was going to reveal it, we saw her body lying on the floor. There are many questions that arise here including what did she know and if she was moved then it means that the killer has access to Charles's apartment. Another question is who is the murderer and why was he trying to kill Charles. The body was rid of because they killed the wrong person? The descent of Charles into madness is understandable. Sazz even had codes for the apartment which always had its blinds on. Who was the murderer about whom she wanted to tell Charles about? Charles is afraid to leave his own home. They're investigating Charles's murder and not Sazz’s. This is the biggest revelation here and the audience needs to keep an open mind from now on as everyone is a suspect now.

This episode of the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building has successfully built intrigue in the minds of the audience. Initially, we were made to think that Sazz was murdered but was she the one who was meant to die? There's a mystery surrounding this topic and a final decision hasn't been delivered yet. The mystery is unraveling at its own pace and successfully makes the audience yearn for more. Sazz was mistaken to be Charles (we all know how she used to work as a body double for him) and the confusion took her life. This will leave a heavy impact which will also be seen in further episodes. It'll be worthwhile to see the reaction Charles will give that is if he'll be scared or wear his detective hat too. After a slow beginning, now it feels that this season is heading in the right direction and I'm positive that viewers are going to love it. A lot of information has been given but it'll not make the audience overburdened. In the first episode, I was disappointed as it felt like all characters weren't being given their due space, a mistake that has been corrected here.

Final Score – [7/10]
