Netflix has revealed the first trailer for the second season of the comedy series "Space Force." The space-themed satire-comedy will return for Season 2 on February 18 on Netflix, worldwide.

The trailer teases how hilarious season 2 can be. It begins with General Mark Naird being called into the office and getting scolded. "General Naird, it's been suggested that you are unstable, incompetent, fragile, eccentric, indecisive, and potentially treasonous. You'll have five months to prove yourself or POTUS will install alternative command," says a senior officer. "When you point a finger, you have three fingers pointed back at you, and your thumb stands erect pointed towards the sky," replies Mark.

In Season 2, under a new administration, General Naird and his dysfunctional but endearing crew have five months to prove that Space Force is worth keeping around.

The cast also includes John Malkovich as Dr. Mallory, Ben Schwartz as F. Tony Scarapiducci, Diana Silvers as Erin Naird, Don Lake as Brigadier General Bradley Gregory, Tawny Newsome as Captain Angela Ali, Lisa Kudrow as Maggie Naird, Jimmy O. Yang as Dr. Chan Kaifang, Jane Lynch as Chief of Naval Operations, and Patrick Warburton as Commandant of the Marine Corps.

In the final episode of the first season, the Joint Chiefs of Staff dispute the legality of China's actions and ponder war, fearing a domino effect that would start a nuclear war, eventually destroying the majority of the globe. Meanwhile, Erin vandalizes Kelly's car and loses her job. All of the Joint Chiefs (save General Grabaston) agree with Mark's mild ideas for the habitat assault, but the Secretary of Defense overrules them and orders Mark to fully destroy the Chinese base. Mark reluctantly informs the crew that Habitat One is armed, and the crew begins guns training. In the end, Mark saves Erin by helicopter, and Maggie escapes from prison with Louise, both of whom board the chopper. Meanwhile, the Habitat One crew returns from their sabotage operation to find the American base completely damaged by the Chinese. Mark turns back the helicopter.

Co-created by Greg Daniels and Steve Carell, Space Force is about general Mark R. Naird (Carell) and his dysfunctional crew at the unique branch of the military. In Season 2, the group has to prove their worth to a new administration, while dealing with several interpersonal challenges.

Norm Hiscock is a co-showrunner alongside Daniels, and co-star Jimmy O. Yang joined the writers' room as a staff writer. Ken Kwapis has directed all of the Season 2 episodes.
