In the third episode, titled “Metamorphosis”, Wendy has big battles to fight. Now that we AND THEY KNOW THAT Hermit is her brother, their fierce sibling protection is at its peak. We get to see this when Wendy bravely fights a Xenomorph in order to save her brother from it. She ends up killing him, but in turn is injured. The survivors make their way back to Neverland, where Hermit has to undergo surgery, and Wendy is also treated. On the other hand, Boy Kavilier is ambitious and is pushing hard for the alien samples to be collected from the Maginot in spite of objections and warnings from Kirsh and Dame Sylvia. We are also shown the secret dealings unfolding as Marrow is constantly communicating with Yutani while also manipulating the hybrids created by Boy. Meanwhile, in the labs, life-altering experiments are taking place. For example, facehugger (the second stage in the lifecycle of a Xenomorph) is dissected and a larva is implanted into the lung of a pig to see the reactions. Clearly, Boy is on a mission to make his own alien monster, the results of which won't go down well.  Coming back to Wendy, when she wakes, she realizes that she is drawn to Xenomorph eggs via a strange sound. But why is this happening to her? What could be the reason? Is there a connection between Wendy and Xenomorph?

Okay, so I will admit, compared to the first two episodes, this one is far more interesting and fun to watch. It had me intrigued right from the start to the end.  The plot is fast and doesn’t waste even a second establishing the story. Even the battle between the Xenomorph and Wendy is visually fun to watch, as well as a bit scary, again because of the visuals. We also feel an impending doom in the air with what Boy is up to. This helps in setting the stage right for what can turn into a catastrophic situation. I also liked how there is a smooth continuation between the episodes. For example, we see the relationship between Hermit and Wendy developing. This was shown in the previous episodes. The plot is not stagnant at all. Another thing, which is the core theme, is worth being appreciated. The fact that the show gives us a display of the side effects of human greed and its harmful impact on mankind is also interesting to watch. As I mentioned before, the eerie visuals are enough to scare you from the aliens. It would be interesting to watch what happens next in the upcoming episodes.

Overall, this episode is worth watching. It is different from the ones we have seen so far and manages to creep and scare you. I can’t wait to see what happens later with Wendy, Hermit, and most importantly, Boy’s big, ambitious plans, which can indeed land mankind in trouble.

Final Score- [8/10]
