This documentary is gripping. I won’t deny this. Why is it gripping? Because it is based on the story that caught many people's eyes. In the center of the documentary is Amy Bradley and her family. On March 24, 1998, Amy was seen for the last time on the balcony of the cruise ship on which she and her family were holidaying. As per Brad Bradley, Amy’s brother, the siblings were up late hanging out. Around 4 am, they were on the shared balcony. Ron Bradley, their father, saw Amy asleep by 5:30 am. However, what happened next astonished everyone. By 6 AM, Amy was nowhere to be found. The ship docked in Curaçao, and a wave of passengers boarded the boat. Now this is where the confusion starts: Did Amy accidentally slip away to the land, or was it a voluntary act?  Where things went wrong was when the crew ship started the search after all passengers had gotten off. This delay was decisive and a big mistake. Adding to this, an eyewitness claimed that Amy was seen dancing with Alister “Yellow” Douglas, who was a bassist with the cruise’s band. When asked, Douglas denied being related to her disappearance in any way. Another passenger who stayed near the cabin was also questioned. However, both he and Douglas were not charged because there was no reasonable doubt to do so.

Amy’s parents had to make a heartbreaking decision on getting off the cruise and returning home to launch a full-scale search operation. After returning to Virginia, USA, the family launched a big campaign in order to find their lost daughter. They even contacted the FBI, media, and international agencies for help. Many months later, a breaking lead came through: a tourist reportedly saw a woman resembling Amy. The photo was widely circulated but sadly led to nowhere. In the next two decades, many people claimed to have spotted Amy. However, none of this led to any success. To this date, multiple questions linger: Was Amy kidnapped? Or did she disappear at her will? Who is the woman who has been spotted so many times?

As we progress with the documentary, Amy’s parents come down with one single theory: Amy was forced into human trafficking. Whether this is true or not, only time can tell. Throughout the documentary, we see many pictures and videos of Amy, which make the documentary interesting. Simultaneously, the candid interviews from people who knew Amy also add great depth to the documentary. Emmy award-winning directors Skye Borgman and Mark Lewis do a great job of depicting the events of the documentary. It quickly dives into the events without wasting time. This fast pace makes the documentary very gripping, as mentioned before.

So if you are into documentary watching, Amy’s story is well crafted and a great watch for you.
