‘An Incurable Case of Love’ Netflix Series Review - Can this Doctor Find a Cure for Love?

Now this is a sweet love story, a light-hearted delight to watch. This premise follows the story of Nanase Sakura and Doctor Kairi Tendo. The story unfolds with Nanase a high school girl who is an ardent believer of love. So much so, that she prayed to find herself her perfect prince charming. As luck would have it, she meets Doctor Tendo while helping an old lady who collapsed on the road. Doctor Tendo, on his regular jogs, finds Nanase Sakura helplessly with the old lady and immediately springs into action. Her timely reaction saves the old lady’s life and lo and behold! our female lead is now madly in love with Dr Tendo. Her love knows no bounds and from that day onwards she decides to pursue a career as a nurse and work in the same hospital as Dr. Tendo.

Five years have elapsed since the incident and Nanase Sakura is now a nurse. Lucky girl, she gets to be trained under Dr Tendo, and her dream is finally coming true. But life is not as easy and romantic as she thought it would be. Dr Tendo is nowhere tender to her and is a tough nut to crack. It's worth mentioning that Dr Tendo approaches his job with utmost seriousness, as is expected of a dedicated professional. He emphasizes to Sakura that the hospital's and the staff’s priority should always be the patients and their well-being. Anything beyond that holds little importance to him.

On the first day, she confesses her love to Dr Tendo. And to her dismay, Dr Tendo doesn’t even remember her! (or he does, who knows?). Within the hospital walls, Nanase's clumsiness results in near-catastrophic errors, putting patients at risk. Dr Tendo convinced she is not fit to be a nurse suggests she quit. But does Nurse Sakura quit and give up on her dreams? Will she realize the gravity of her profession? And most importantly, will Dr Tendo ever fall for Sakura’s love?

"An Incurable Case of Love" is a romantic comedy that effortlessly resonates with its audience. It captivates viewers, offering both engagement and sheer enjoyment. Takeru Satoh shines as Dr. Kairi Tendo, a compassionate young doctor deeply dedicated to his patients, delivering a delightful performance. Mone Kamishiraishi equally impresses Nanase Sakura, a love-struck yet clumsy nurse infatuated with Dr Tendo. Their blend of humor and occasional seriousness adds depth to the storyline, ensuring an entertaining viewing experience. The chemistry between Takeru Satoh and Mone Kamishiraishi brings a genuine warmth to the screen, making every scene a joy to watch.

Furthermore, the parallel stories of the supporting cast seamlessly integrate into the narrative, avoiding any sense of disjointedness. This cohesion enhances the overall quality of the show, making it a delightful watch from start to finish. While the plot may not offer anything new, "An Incurable Case of Love" is worth a watch at least once. Its charm and appeal make it a worthwhile choice for viewers seeking light entertainment.
