Now, I've never been too much into soccer and Ángel Di María’s story is something out of this world. He's here to inspire so many youngsters who think after one or two setbacks that their life is over. Being into soccer and receiving so much hate, it's from athletes like him that you can learn how to face that backlash. Everyone's story has something or the other to teach you and it depends on the audience regarding how much they want to grab. Ángel’s documentary on Netflix has three episodes and they're divided according to the phases of his life. The first one is about his childhood, the following captures his career, and the last one shows the glory he's earned. Throughout this journey, one thing has been constant and it's the will to do something. There were moments when he wanted to retire however it was his wife, his parents, and his friends who motivated him.

There are a lot of matches shown and how Ángel scored in them. In his career, he's seen all the ups and downs. There were times when his effort wasn't gaining any acceptance or recognition and this was the most painful part to watch. There's also how his wife suffered during her first pregnancy. Ángel was playing the match, fulfilling his duty of being a player and on the other hand his wife and daughter were in the hospital. Being born premature, the girl had to be kept in the ICU, and Ángel still didn't disappoint the team. This is the spirit he has and through this, I hope the audience will take away an important message. Several interviews of great soccer players like Messi and Neymar have also been included. I felt like Ángel didn't gain the popularity he deserved. He's famous in Argentina and other parts of Europe yet, he couldn't make a name like Messi or Ronaldo did. This wasn't his fault as there were times he was benched when he could've done wonders.

In all, this is a documentary that you must not miss. The unwavering support of your loved ones makes you gain laurels. We see him celebrating his victories with his friends and they were not only present in his happiness but also at times when he gave up on everything. When you see Ángel’s retirement from PSG, and his mom crying and fainting when he scored a goal in the final, these moments make you emotional. Coming from a poor background and being the third generation trying to make a name in soccer, this individual has come too far to be forgotten. At the end of the documentary, Ángel’s achievements have been shown and you'll be amazed to see how much he's done for the country and his family. If you're having a bad day and watch something motivating then go for it. The documentary has been shown in a systematic manner and everything is told so simply and clearly that even a non-soccer fan will fall in love with the man who's known to break the walls.

Final Score – [8/10]
