Apple TV+ has revealed a new extended trailer (watch above) for its upcoming sci-fi series ‘Foundation.’ Starring Jared Harris and Lee Pace and based on Isaac Asimov’s novel series of the same name ‘Foundation’ will arrive on September 24 on Apple TV+.
The trailer begins with Gaal (Lou Llobell) Saying, "When I was a child, at the edge of the galaxy I heard stories about a man who could forecast the future. But the story remained dark to me until many years later. Until it became my story. Until it became the only story." To which Dr. Hari Seldon replies, "You're familiar with my work, psychohistory? Every mathematician has read your theory. It's the future of mankind expressed in numbers. And the empire won't like the future I predict."
The trailer proceeds further, "His math was right. The empire is dying. Wars will be endless," says Gaal. Dr. Seldon replies, "A thousand worlds reduced to cinders. Change is frightening. Especially to those in power. But we can soften the fall. Many years from now, if humanity is to climb from the ashes, the coming generations will need the knowledge to build upon, a foundation."
The first season which will have 10-episode chronicles the epic saga of The Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.
When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon (Harris) foresees the Empire's oncoming demise, he and a band of devoted followers travel to the farthest regions of the galaxy to found The Foundation in an attempt to reconstruct and save civilization's future. Infuriated by Hari’s claims, the ruling Cleons — a long line of emperor clones — fear their grasp on the galaxy may be eroding as they’re forced to reckon with the possible reality of losing their legacy forever.
Foundation is led by showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer, produced for Apple by Skydance Television with Robyn Asimov, Cameron Welsh, David Ellison, Josh Friedman, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost also serving as executive producers.
Foundation stars Jared Harris as Dr. Hari Seldon; Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick; Lee Pace as Brother Day; Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin; Laura Birn as Demerzel; Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk; Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn; and Alfred Enoch as Raych. Apple TV+ will start by dropping the first three episodes on September 24 and release one new episode weekly, every Friday.
