Netflix has revealed the first trailer and release date for the Danish-language Netflix series, “Elves” (Nisser). The six episodes of the horror-fantasy series will release only on Netflix on November 28, worldwide.
The trailer begins with a family heading to a remote island to spend Christmas, only to discover that their home is surrounded by massive fences to protect from the creatures (ELves) in the woods. As the trailer jumps forward, a young girl finds a small creature (newborn Elf) and brings it home, but it doesn't go as expected as all the creatures began to hunt down every human at that place.
Elves brings back the real, monstrous beings that inspired the folklore and myths we all know. The series stars Ann Eleonora Jørgensen, Sonja Steen, Milo Toke Bendix Campanale, Vivelill Søgaard Holm, Rasmus Hammerich, Peder Thomas Pedersen, Lila Nobel, and Lukas Løkken.
A family of four travels to a distant island in the Danish archipelago in the hopes of reconnecting for Christmas, only to discover that it is controlled by members of a strongly religious group who live in harmony with fierce creatures in the woods revealed to be... elves. Real, horrific entities who inspired folklore and mythology. When the family's daughter discovers and brings home a newborn elf, she unintentionally upsets the balance and pushes everyone on the island into a life-or-death struggle for faith, family, and pure survival.
Stefan Jaworski created and wrote the six-episode series, which is directed by Roni Ezra and produced by Elise H. Lund for Miso Film. Elves are based on the original idea of Jannik Tai Mosholt and Christian Potalivo, who also act as executive producers alongside Miso Film's Peter Bose and Jonas Allen.
