‘Lost in Space’ Season 3 Officially Begins Production at Netflix

The Robinsons are back, as one of the most popular sci-fi series at Netflix, Lost in Space Season 3 is officially back in production. Netflix announced this earlier today with exclusive pictures of the cast from the set.

The first season of the show was premiered in April 2018 and immediately became popular in the sci-fi genre. Earlier this year, Netflix made it official that season 3 of the series will be its final season, and the show will reach its conclusion in it.

Season 2 of the series ended up in a cliffhanger, the children of the Resolute failed to reach Alpha Centauri and were "Lost in Space" once again. The Robinson parents and Don West have no idea how to catch up or where their kids actually are. Dr. Smith seemingly sacrifices her life to fix the magnetic field in the airlock that holds the robots, but which also crushes her spacesuit.

But, towards the end of the episode, after the Jupiter 2 has jumped through the rift, the Robot discovers a box containing Dr. Smith's scarf, and a blue ball that she picked up earlier in the episode. So, She might not be dead. Season 3 is likely to see the fate of the Children, and how the Robinson family is going to reunite, how Dr. Smith faked her death?

"Lost in Space" is created by Irwin Allen, Matt Sazama, and Burk Sharpless. Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Maxwell Jenkins, Taylor Russell, Mina Sundwall, Ignacio Serricchio, and Parker Posey will return for season 3 in their respective roles.

Season 3 of Lost in Space will premiere in 2021 on Netflix.

Lost in Space is set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off-course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, light-years from their original destination. Stranded along with the Robinsons are two outsiders who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and a mutual knack for deception. The charismatic Dr. Smith is a master manipulator with an inscrutable end game. And the roguish, but charming Don West is a highly-skilled, blue-collar contractor, who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash landing on a lost planet.
