A film that makes us think twice before the character takes the next footstep! Lou keeps us waiting for an answer to all the miseries happening, but only until the beginning of the second half. It’s a film filled with action, drama, mystery, crime, and thriller.

In a massive storm – a young girl gets kidnapped. Her mother seeks help from the neighbor, an old lady whose survival skills are top-notch. They both set out on a journey to track down the kid and the kidnapper and certain secrets from the early life of the two get connected and revealed as they pursue this journey. It’s not a new concept but this type of genre excites everyone. It does make us hold our breath with each step the protagonist takes. Lou has got all those to excite you.

It’s gotten the right setting, stormy weather to make things look even real, and the complicated early life of the characters. The backdrop sets the right mood for the concept. But this doesn’t make it anything different from what we have been receiving from other thrillers. Lou is not exceptionally good but also, it’s not too bad to describe it in simple terms. It has got all the emotions and elements that we want to watch in a thriller therefore it can satisfy us. But if you are looking for something different and entirely new, then Lou might not be the perfect choice for you.

Lou has a very high-tension plotline and the characters add up to the plotline very smoothly which makes us easier to digest the film. The characters are mysterious and we do not get to know a lot about them at least until the first half gets over. But isn’t this something we see in every other thriller? What the makers have made look good to build the plot is a good atmosphere. But that has been used before in many other movies. But affirmatively speaking we can conclude that the movie has made use of all the elements to bring out something good even though not anything new.

The first half of the movie has a lot more to offer us than its second half. The story develops in the first half at a good pace and reveals to us most of the suspense by the end of the first half, after which we might feel that the movie slows down. When the second half takes off, the audience will be able to guess how the film might end. We also will have to sort of wait for the film to finish since it’s a bit lagging and slow-paced in the second half.

To conclude, Lou is certainly a good movie, a one-time watchable that has made use of all the genres and the right settings. But the audience should remember that it doesn’t have anything new. If you watch it with that mindset, there are chances of you liking this movie, and of course, it is capable to do at least that much.

Final Score – [7/10]
