Netflix has officially renewed its Mexican comedy-family series, ‘The Manny’ for a second season. The first season of the Spanish-language series was released on December 24, 2023, on Netflix, worldwide. Netflix confirmed the renewal via a video in which the lead cast of the series announced the good news. Watch the announcement video above.
The news of renewal comes after the first season of The Manny topped Mexico’s Top 10 most-watched TV series, and remained there for seven weeks. Not only did Mexicans fall in love with Gaby, but the romance between the rancher and the daring and attractive Jimena appeared in the worldwide non-English language TV series Top 10 with 8.2 million views and remained a fan favorite for four weeks.
“I’m so happy and grateful! I never thought this would become such a beloved project globally. I can finally continue to tell this story to the fans who, like me, were anxious to watch more of Jimena and Gaby,” said Sandra Echeverría (Jimena).
Iván Amozurrutia, who plays the fans’ favorite nanny/rancher, added: “I can’t be everyone’s personal manny, but with this second season, I hope to join them once again from their screens. I’m very excited to continue this story in response to how much people enjoyed it. Fans messages push me to give this new season my all”.
In Season 1, Jimena juggles trying to keep her life organized. She has her hands full with raising her three children, contending for the company's president, and coping with her (nearly) ex-husband. She then meets Gaby, a lovely rancher who unexpectedly proves to be the ideal nanny for her children. Unexpectedly, Gabriel and Jimena would fall in love against gender prejudices.
