A new trailer for Jared Leto's Morbius is arriving this Tuesday (Nov. 2) and we can't wait to see it. This film was mostly forgotten amid the hype surrounding "Spider-Man: No Way Home," but the news of a new trailer has brought it back into discussions and debates. Update 11/2: The article has been updated with the latest trailer (watch above).

The first/last trailer (watch at the bottom) for Morbius was released back in January 2020. It teased that the film is likely to follow the origin of Dr. Michael Morbius, who is dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate as he attempts a desperate gamble.

Though it also has few references leading to a multiverse, it wasn't widely discussed at the time. This might be because the majority of the fandom was not aware that Marvel is planning such a huge multiverse event that will connect several franchises and open the cinematic world beyond the scope of a film studio.

The first Morbius teaser trailer gave us a shot, where we see Spider-Man referred to as a Murderer on a wall. We also get to hear and see Michael Keaton, but his role is officially not yet specified.

When the first trailer was revealed, fans didn't speculate much on the Spider-Man reference assuming that it was Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Fans were correct in their hypothesis that it was Holland's Spider-Man because he was accused of killing Mysterio in Far From Home. Also, Michael Keaton, who portrayed Vulture in Homecoming, was present in the trailer, which was enough to confirm that Morbius is set in the Marvel Studios Spider-Man universe, with Holland as Peter Parker.

However, most of the fans ignored one major hint- the Spider-Man's costume shown on the wall doesn't match and has no similarity with the costume of Holland's Spider-Man. The only thing that can be debated is whether the costume belongs to Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man or Tobey Maguire's, and so far many scoops have indicated that it is Tobey's Spider-Man on the wall.

So, How is it possible that Vulture from Holland's universe and Spider-Man from Maguire's are in Morbius? The answer lies within the concept of Multiverse, which is the main theme of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and this might be the reason why Morbius is releasing after "No Way Home" as it might contain some spoilers that are set after the events of No Way Home.

Multiverse and Spider-Man are primarily the leading topics that fans will be hoping to get an answer to in the movie and probably some more hints in the upcoming trailer. We can expect a few more references to the Multiverse hoping Morbius also connects to Marvel Studios' Blade. We will analyze it as soon as the second trailer is released.

Sony's “Venom: Let there be Carnage” has already introduced Venom to Holland's Spider-Man in its post-credit scene, and similarly, we might see No Way Home referencing Sony's Morbius in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
