Hulu has revealed the first trailer for the sci-fi thriller movie, ‘Mother/Android.’ Produced by Matt Reeves and directed by Mattson Tomlin, the post-apocalyptic movie is releasing on December 17 on Hulu.
'Mother/Android,' set in the near future, follows Georgia (Chloë Grace Moretz) and her lover Sam (Algee Smith) on their perilous voyage of escape as their country becomes embroiled in an unforeseen war with artificial intelligence. They must confront No Man's Land—a bastion of the android uprising—just days before the birth of their first child in the hopes of reaching refuge before giving birth.
The trailer opens with Georgia and Sam waking up to a calm morning in the woods, where someone is watching them, ready to attack. Georgia recounts the tragic day when once-subservient androids disguised as normal people turned their backs on the humans they were supposed to serve. "Androids were a part of our daily lives until one night everything changed," Georgia recalls.
The trailer proceeds further and follows the pair as they flee dangerous technological threats in order to reach a safe harbor in Boston, where Georgia will give birth to her kid. They must survive No Man's Land on their two-week journey to the East Coast.
The cast of the movie also includes Raúl Castillo as Arthur, Jared Reinfeldt as Connor, Kate Avallone as Dr. Howe, Oscar Wahlberg as Derrick, Liam McNeill as Daniel, Kiara Pichardo as Lisa, Steve M. Robertson, Owen Burke, and Tamara Hickey.
The Batman writer Mattson Tomlin is making his feature film directorial debut with 'Mother/Android.' Tomlin has also written the film's script.
