‘My Dad the Bounty Hunter’ Netflix Series Review - An Entertainer in Every Way!

My Dad the Bounty Hunter is an animated series that has been released in 2023 on Netflix. Created by Everett Downing and Patrick Harpin, it’s an exciting show and is a perfect watch for both kids and adults. The series has a total of 10 episodes each having a run time of 20-28 minutes.

Netflix has a vast variety of animated shows, and this one is a new entry. My Dad the Bounty Hunter is a perfect mix between a family comedy entertainer and also a sci-fi adventure. The series gives us the best of both worlds. It’s the story of Sean and his sister Lisa and the adventure they go on. Sean decides to spend his birthday with his family when his dad is suddenly called for duty. That is when he and his sister decide to tag along secretly for the mission their dad is going for. What these two kids do not know is that their dad is the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy. Even though they join him to spend some quality time together, they get hit with tons of adventure. That is when the story picks up its adventurous side and takes us on a ride along with Sean and Lisa.

We often find animated series made for kids leaving out the adults from the viewer spectrum, but My Dad the Bounty Hunter is a series that is made for families to watch and enjoy together. The series has used aliens as a major element which provides the audience with a lot of fun and unique scenes. The voice cast of the series is another standout. Laz Alonso, Yvonne Orji, Pinah Ferguson, and others are part of the incredible voice cast that this series has.

The series gives us an insight into the innocence of the kids’ Sean and Lisa, and how they give importance to family time. The series has a fast pace and is quite enjoyable in that form. It shows us the ups and downs and several other moments which happen during the adventure and also what makes them a family as they endure all these moments together. Even though it is an animated series it has kept its promise of entertaining adults as well. It has done a really good job with the plot, setting, and characters. Especially if you are someone who likes sci-fi adventure in general, this series can easily catch your attention.

The series somehow can give a real effect on how families work. How each person in a family is essential to keep everything intact is what the show ultimately teaches us. But the measures it takes to make this basic concept interesting is where the show has succeeded. It is highly relatable for families which is quite unusual for an animated series. The plot keeps getting better with each episode, and the viewers will find themselves glued to the show. The makers have made use of what they have and have given us an incredible show. From the characters to the execution everything has made the series an enjoyable watch. It gives us thrilling as well as heartwarming scenes. The series has also made use of all the characters, and every other element the show has used pushes it forward in bringing out the best.
