“Outer Banks” has currently come up with season 3 and is now premiering on Netflix. The show is created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. The teen drama was quite successful in its previous two seasons. The first season was released in 2020 followed by the second season that was released the very next year. However, now Outer Banks is back with a new season after a year gap. The new season consists of 10 episodes each having a run time of 45 minutes to 1 hour and 19 minutes. The show is expected to be suspenseful and exciting.

Outer Banks tells us the story of a group of friends who call themselves the Pogues, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. They go on an adventurous mystery run for a long-lost treasure worth 400 million dollars. John B as the leader of this group, firmly believes that his father’s disappearance has got something to do with the treasure and is quite determined to find it. Every season, the show gives the viewers a fun ride filled with twists and turns. And the third season is no exception. It is packed with wild drama that will continuously entertain the audience.

Season two created a lot of questions among the viewers since it ended with a huge cliffhanger. The second season was an adventure mixed with mystery and action, and its finale made the fans speculate on what will come in the next season. Therefore, this season is expected to deliver and clear all the questions and doubts.

Chase stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Johnathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, and many others are cast in this adventure series. The show has some beautiful locations which is another factor to become its fan. Even though all these factors seem to be good, the show does have some major flaws. It does have some typical ways of portraying the characters.

Throughout all the seasons, one highly noticeable thing is that everything easily works out for the main characters. This might make the show a little bit far from reality, but it is still good enough to be liked if looked at from another point of view. Another major flaw is that only some characters are given importance in the story. For the viewers to understand and love a series and its characters, it is necessary to know their backstories to feel drawn to them. This is what Outer Banks lacks. Most of the character does not get a backstory which makes it difficult for the audiences to understand their present motives.

Character development is also not majorly witnessed throughout the three seasons. Of course, the show does offer us adventures and twists, but at some point, it will feel like the characters are sort of stuck in a hamster wheel and are just in never-ending situations. The third season also gives us a few new faces. But the new characters do not create much change in the plot which is indeed disappointing.

The actors however have done a good performance from their side. From the action sequences to everything else this season holds; the actors have incredibly done their best. This series is something you can watch if you are a fan of adventure and twists since the whole series is filled with those. But in terms of characters and their story or developments and also failing to avoid the typical elements, the series has certainly failed. However, if you have been watching the previous seasons then the third season should be an easy watch!

Final Score – [7/10]
